Know Who You Are

*Know Who You Are*

At times it can be very difficult for one to actually understand who they really are, especially in this world where everything around you can easily be contrary to what is inside of you.

Recently I watched "Becoming" it's about the tour of Former FLOTUS(First Lady Of The United State) of her book *Becoming*.

While watching it there were occasions she had young people interview her,  some of college age and some different age groups all of different ethnicity.

Often times many of them bursted into tears as a result of the reality that they are sitting or hugging a woman who hail from Chicago from a normal black family of a slave descendant who became first black FLOTUS in the history of USA.

She often mentioned how resilient she was in her pursue to be who she eventually became. Even when criticism at early age would have set her back she pushed forward.

A lecturer who thought less of her due to her heritage, a parent who withdrew her daughter from the room she shared with her just because she was black and many other things.

Some of what I understand is the fact that she knew who she was, Her father had MS(multiple sclerosis) but he was always pushing himself and family to do well.

I looked at all these things and just thought we all have some kind of story that tell us who we are, we can either sit on the story and feel less and allow others who cannot even change how the strand of our hair grow or how our breath is controlled tell us how we must live or how we  are created.

I go back to the manual of life, my manual of life The Word of God.

The only way we can find out who we truly are, is through the word of God.

It doesn't matter who is saying what, or what has been said except you allow it to be your reality by accepting it, it's far from who you are or who God has made you to be.

I want to encourage you define yourself by What God says not you background or circumstances or location in life.
