God fearing and spirit aligned leader in the home or family

Topic: Benefit of Having a God-Fearing, Spirit-Aligned Leader in the Home or Family

Text: Genesis 18:17–33

Opening Prayer

Lord, we thank You and give You all the praise and glory for who You are to us. Thank You for the opportunity to dive into Your Word today. Have Your way in our lives. In Jesus' mighty name, Amen.

From the Scriptures, we understand that when Abraham left his father's land, he did not leave with only his wife. His nephew, Lot, also followed him (Genesis 13). For Lot to have followed his uncle, there must have been an established and solid relationship between them.

Fast forward to Genesis 18:18–33, Lot had settled in Sodom and Gomorrah, away from his uncle. The sins of that city had come up before God. Yet in Genesis 18:17, God said:

Genesis 18:17 KJV

«"And the LORD said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do;"»

Abraham was not a stranger to God. He had an active and intimate relationship with Him. That was why God acknowledged that Abraham needed to know what was about to happen in Sodom and Gomorrah because his blood relative, Lot, and his family were living there.

According to the Scriptures, the people of Sodom and Gomorrah were involved in acts that were abominable before God, and He greatly frowned upon their wickedness. Yet, before judgment came, God chose to reveal His plans to Abraham.

From Genesis 18:18–33, after God revealed His intentions, Abraham immediately began to intercede. He negotiated with God, asking if the city would be spared for the sake of fifty righteous people, then forty-five, forty, thirty, twenty, and finally ten. Unfortunately, there were not even ten righteous people found in the city.

There is a saying that the person who is incarcerated often does not know who is running helter-skelter to secure their bail or freedom. Likewise, Lot may never have fully understood that someone was standing before God on his behalf.

Because of Abraham's relationship with God and his willingness to intercede, Lot was delivered from destruction, even though his wife looked back and became a pillar of salt. Imagine if Abraham had never pleaded for God's mercy. Lot and his daughters could have perished alongside the people of Sodom and Gomorrah.

Genesis 18:17–33 KJV

«[Genesis 18:17-33 KJV
[17] And the LORD said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do; [18] seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him? [19] For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him. [20] And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous; [21] I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know. [22] And the men turned their faces from thence, and went toward Sodom: but Abraham stood yet before the LORD. [23] And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked? [24] Peradventure there be fifty righteous within the city: wilt thou also destroy and not spare the place for the fifty righteous that are therein? [25] That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee: Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right? [26] And the LORD said, If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes. [27] And Abraham answered and said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord, which am but dust and ashes: [28] peradventure there shall lack five of the fifty righteous: wilt thou destroy all the city for lack of five? And he said, If I find there forty and five, I will not destroy it. [29] And he spake unto him yet again, and said, Peradventure there shall be forty found there. And he said, I will not do it for forty's sake. [30] And he said unto him, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak: Peradventure there shall thirty be found there. And he said, I will not do it, if I find thirty there. [31] And he said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord: Peradventure there shall be twenty found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for twenty's sake. [32] And he said, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak yet but this once: Peradventure ten shall be found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for ten's sake. [33] And the LORD went his way, as soon as he had left communing with Abraham: and Abraham returned unto his place.

One of the greatest benefits of having a God-fearing, Spirit-aligned leader in a home is that such a person can stand in the gap before God on behalf of the family.

A home or family that lacks a God-fearing leader—someone who is submitted to God and aligned with His will—can easily become vulnerable to the attacks of the enemy. They may also be exposed to God's judgment because there is no one standing before Him in prayer and intercession on their behalf.

Consider what happened to John.

Revelation 4:1 KJV

«"After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter."»

In this Scripture, a voice called John to "come up hither" so that he could see things that were yet to come.

Who is the person in your family who is able to ascend on behalf of everyone else, like Abraham did, so that God can reveal His heart and His plans?

You may say that Abraham was visited by angels, while John's encounter was different. That may be true, but the common thread is this: both men had cultivated a relationship with God that positioned them to receive divine revelation.

As a parent or even as an individual, you may be the one God-fearing, Spirit-aligned person in your household whom God is calling to negotiate, intercede, and stand in the gap for your family and those around you.

Notice that Abraham's intercession extended beyond Lot. He was standing before God on behalf of the entire city of Sodom and Gomorrah.

Sometimes, we are looking in the wrong direction for someone else to arise, when God has already placed us in that position.

One of the benefits of having a genuine relationship with God is that He reveals things before they happen.

Even when your children or family members are not physically close to you, God is able to reveal what is happening in their lives. Sometimes He reveals these things early so that we can pray ahead of time. At other times, He reveals them so that we can continue earnestly in prayer. Sometimes He wants us to reach out to those involved, and at other times, He may be calling us into a rescue mission because He does not want them to perish.

As a parent, are you waiting until something goes wrong before you begin to pray?

Spirit alignment is not only reflected in the hours we spend in prayer. It is also revealed in the words we continually speak over our children, our spouse, our family, our community, and even our nation.

What are you declaring over those God has entrusted to you?

Perhaps you are serving as the priest over them in this season, and your words carry more weight than you realise.

As we come to a close, let us reflect on how God has been stirring our spirits. It may concern a member of your family or someone connected to you. Do not ignore those promptings or sweep them under the carpet. Instead, take your rightful position as an intercessor and stand in the gap.

May God help us all, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Let Us Pray

- Heavenly Father, I thank You for the Word You have sent to me today.

- Lord, forgive me in every way You have stirred my spirit and I have remained ignorant or disobedient.

- Lord, restore my spiritual insight and revelation concerning the situations You need me to know about.

- Lord, awaken every sleeping priest in my lineage from their slumber, in Jesus' name.

- Lord, when warnings come, do not let me remain deaf to them like the people of Sodom and Gomorrah.

- Lord, do not let me become so entangled in the affairs of this world that I lose focus on You and perish like Lot's wife.

- Lord Eternal, do not allow me to become so consumed by the gifts You have given me that I begin to worship the gift more than You, the Giver.

- Lord, for everyone who has lost their spiritual alignment with You, by Your mercy, reignite the fire in our lives. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Personal Prayer

Thank You, Abba Father, for answered prayers.

In Jesus' mighty name, Amen.

Having difficult conversations with our children

*RECAP*

*RAISING GODLY CHILDREN ON MONDAY, 23RD AUGUST, 2021*

*Topic: Having difficult conversations with our children*

Examples of some difficult topics are below:

1). Divorce
2).Death
3). Rape
4). Financial challenge
5). Terminal illness
6). Congenital illness
7). Faith
8). Sexuality/Sexual orientation

1. *Divorce*: is something that children might get caught up in the midst of their parents happen to be going through it. If the grounds of divorce is mutual it can make it easy for the children but to be honest separation is not easy on any child except in extreme cases where violence is involved and someone might end up dead if they don't separate. In such case it might be a bit easy to say because of this and that we have to go our separate ways but one thing with children is that whatever they see or go through is like a seed. They grow with the memories and it takes the grace of God for them to actually come out of it with being damaged or partially condemned

So discussion of divorce can be quite difficult. In some cases they recommend that you get therapist involved, because the children can face series of bullying and other things that can make them feel unworthy. You know kids can easily pick on each other and some children will bottle this up inside them for so long.

If you look in our society now and the adult the millennial or whatever generation before them many are like damaged goods producing damaged generation. The reason is that many went through so much growing up but they were not addressed correctly and now they just live as the flow comes. It is always important as parents gets support and therapy the child or children gets as well. As you pray for the divorcees pray for their children as well if they have any because some hurts can linger longer than envisaged.

2. *Death* : This is a big one that many fail to inform or teach their child or children about. As parents it is important to teach our children that life has an end just as it has a beginning. It's not an easy conversation. And African myth that when someone talks about death is because they want to die doesn't help the situation.

3  *Rape* : This sounds like a forbidden thing that many will not want to discuss with their child.  Yes it's not something easy to discuss or worth discussing about, but there is no point waiting for it to happen before discussing it. We live in a world where people are wicked. They breath in evil and breath out destruction. We must inform our children and let them know how to make informed decision and not fall victim and also be able to report any kind of sexual assaults or rape. Also we must let them know that it is sin to cry rape when you give consensual sex. Yes tell them when you say yes you have given consent when you say yes in the beginning then no and the person continues then it's rape. Even if it happens in marriage, Don't just talk about rape with your girls tell your son's as well. They must know when someone says no and be the gentleman.

4. *Financial challenge* : This is another one. At times as parents to safe face we don't want to tell our children that finances aren't great. We want them to always feel like Daddy and mummy have it all under control or perhaps you're a single parents you are bursting your ass trying to get all what that child needs just to safe face, Heyyy it's okay to let that child or children know when finances aren't great. It is important to let them know you work for money. It is okay to let them know God is the one who gives you power to get wealth. It is okay to tell them when you can't afford that thing that you can't afford it. It is okay, some parents will go into debt just to safe face you are not helping your child that way, In fact show them how you make ends meet.  If you work salary job and do other legit business to make ends meet tell them. Don't just be superwoman or superman parents they need to know that in life we work and we save for raining days and when life happens we don't give up we keep going and doing illegal business or runs for quick money is never the way out or asking for miracle money not backed by the scripture

5. *Terminal illness:* This age we live in aside Covid we hear of different illness in fact you will hear some and wonder what is this. Any thing can lead to terminal illness but as we let them know we must also inform them that God is able. God can turn around the tides. God can heal and when it doesn't happen it doesn't mean God failed, God took the person at the appointed time

It is also important to highlight to them some self derived terminal illness. Like smoking leading to lung cancer etc. Always let them know that medics care but God is the healer. Having said that He can use any medium to heal. Either supernaturally or through science. Yes because He gave scientists the knowledge and they will never know more than God.

Stories like Job’s sickness, woman with issue of blood, man by the pool of Bethesda, the mad man of gadara, the centurions daughter, dead Lazarus, the widow's son and many more stories are evident stories that we can use to teach them of supernatural healing and ability to possess divine health

6. *Congenital illness* : are sickness that people suffer from birth. Such as sickle cell, Hole in the heart, Juvenile arthritis, Brittle bones osteoporosis, and so many disease that people are born with even disabilities like Multiple sclerosis, Down syndrome and others.  It is worth letting your child know that we are all made uniquely with unique DNA and some of this disease can be as a result of extra DNA or missing Chromosome according to science but it doesn't mean God doesn't love the person or they are created by devil or descendant of devil.

7. *Faith:* it is important to always discuss the importance of faith in all this conversation because without faith it is impossible to please God when your child knows where their faith is and where your faith is when they face challenges from any of the discussed issues they go back to the manual of life the word of God to draw strength and faith. That is why it's important to allow the word to dwell in your spirit. When it comes to your children as well they must not just know it as memory verse, they must know it like as if their life depends on it.

8. *Sexuality/sexual orientation:* This age we live in we hear read and see a lot. It is important to let your child and children know that they are fearfully and wonderfully made. Drawing knowledge from faith will enable them to understand this and perhaps they find themselves in a strange land they will not be swayed by false doctrines and regulations. They also need to know that treating anyone who doesn't believe in the sexuality or sexual orientation with respect is wrong. You can not share love if you are filled with judgement and hate. Always remember what will Jesus do.

Above all remember that you will account and I will account before God how I raise the gift He placed in my custody because as parents we are custodian God is the real parents.

Thank you all for staying attentive and contributing I hope you were blessed and I pray that God will increase His divine wisdom in us. We will not miss it.

Prayer:
All our children will grow in God's wisdom and stature and every negative influence is negated. We also decree that sickness disease and untimely death will not make our home an abode. We pray that all facing financial challenge will begin to live in divine abundance and all that are sick receive healing in Jesus name.

Remember Jesus loves you so much thanks so much for reading.

Rivalry

Recap

Raising Godly Children Programme 25th May 2020

 Anchor : Sis Leah

Topic: Rivalry

 Text: Genesis 30:1-25

When Rachel saw that she conceived no children for Jacob, she envied her sister, and said to Jacob, “Give me children, or else I will die.” Then Jacob became furious with Rachel, and he said, “Am I in the place of God, who has denied you children?” She said, “Here, take my maid Bilhah and go in to her; and [when the baby comes] she shall deliver it [while sitting] on my knees, so that by her I may also have children [to count as my own].” So she gave him Bilhah her maid as a [ secondary] wife, and Jacob went in to her. Bilhah conceived and gave birth to a son for Jacob. Then Rachel said, “God has judged and vindicated me, and has heard my plea and has given me a son [through my maid].” So she named him Dan (He judged). Bilhah, Rachel’s maid, conceived again and gave birth to a second son for Jacob. So Rachel said, “With mighty wrestlings [in prayer to God] I have struggled with my sister and have prevailed.”So she named him Naphtali (my wrestlings).  When Leah saw that she had stopped bearing [children], she took Zilpah her maid and gave her to Jacob as a [ secondary] wife. Zilpah, Leah’s maid, gave birth to a son for Jacob. Then Leah said, “How fortunate!” So she named him Gad (good fortune). Then Leah said, “I am happy! For women will call me happy.” So she named him Asher (happy).  Now at the time of wheat harvest Reuben [the eldest child] went and found some mandrakes in the field, and brought them to his mother Leah. Then Rachel said to Leah, “Please give me some of your son’s mandrakes.” But Leah answered, “Is it a small thing that you have taken my husband? Would you take away my son’s mandrakes also?” So Rachel said, “Jacob shall sleep with you tonight in exchange for your son’s mandrakes.” When Jacob came in from the field in the evening, Leah went out to meet him and said, “You must sleep with me [tonight], for I have in fact hired you with my son’s mandrakes.” So he slept with her that night. God listened and answered [the prayer of] Leah, and she conceived and gave birth to a fifth son for Jacob. Then Leah said, “God has given me my reward because I have given my maid to my husband.” So she named him Issachar. Leah conceived again and gave birth to a sixth son for Jacob. Then Leah said, “God has endowed me with a good [marriage] gift [for my husband]; now he will live with me [regarding me with honor as his wife], because I have given birth to six sons.” So she named him Zebulun. Afterward she gave birth to a daughter and named her Dinah.  Then God remembered [the prayers of] Rachel, and God thought of her and opened her womb [so that she would conceive]. So she conceived and gave birth to a son; and she said, “God has taken away my disgrace and humiliation.” She named him Joseph (may He add) and said, “May the Lord add to me another son.”

Genesis 30:1‭-‬11‭, ‬13‭-‬24 AMP

Sis Leah: Let us type what we understand by the word Rivalry

A: Rivalry is the act of competing for the same thing against another person

Sis Leah: Yes...

 Competition

Sis K: Rivalry is an act of competing, contention

Sis S: Is an act of superiority, competition

Sis Leah: Contention

Rivalry competition for the same objective or for superiority in the same field.... From online dictionary

Genesis 30:1-25 is a story that show so much rivalry between sibling

The story of Rachel and Leah we all will remember that Laban asked Jacob to work 7years for him so he can marry Rachel but at the end he gave him Leah

Then Jacob agreed to work another seven years just for Rachel

Meaning that he worked 14years for two sisters

I just think that sowing a doctor's seed between siblings already

This was the beginning of their rivalry

And Leah was so fruitful in fact she had 6 sons for Jacob and a daughter for Jacob before Rachel had Joseph

If you read chapter 30 very well it got to a stage Rachel was competing with her sister. She even gave their husband her maid just because she didn't have a child

She decided to create an alternative at some point when she asked for something from her nephew who is also her stepson Reuben and Leah was like you took my husband do you want to take my son again

It must have been a very toxic environment even for the children because they didn't hide their competition towards each other at any point in time

You might be wondering how this affects raising godly children

The kind of seed you sow in the life of your children as a parent matter

If you ask anyone who grew up in a toxic polygamous family

They at some point must have gone through lots of competition due to attention they seek from their parents

In fact, there might not even be a way to balance the love shown to each child from each wife

And as we all know what eventually happened to Joseph as a result of his brothers' deeds

Rivalry is something that should not be encouraged in any home

It should not be encouraged in the life and upbringing of any child

Do you know some parents are the cause of rivalry in their children's life

They will rather treat a child different from the other and they make it so obvious that they have their favourite

This shouldn't be something a parent should show or allow to fester in any home because the end product if not for the intervention of God can lead to division

Do you know some parents fall into rivalry with their own children?

Yes, it does happen perhaps they notice the child is gaining some attention than they normally would when they were at the child's age or it could be anything

Some parent become their children's rival when the child start making it in life🤦🏽‍♀️

In as much as it sounds ridiculous it does happen

For some reasons the mother of Leah and Rachel was not really mentioned in the scene there

I must say that although Jacob loved Rachel, but God favoured and blessed Leah more than Rachel

To the extent her husband was angry with her when she kept nagging him for a child

You will notice that until God took away the delay in her life that was when she conceived and became a mother

It is important as a Christian parent not to sow discord in between your children at any age or stage of their lives

God's ways aren't our ways and His will surpass our will

If only Rachel knew that God was preparing her womb to bring out a prime minister of its kind in a foreign land, she wouldn't have been battling unnecessary battle with her sister

What cause rivalry most time is myopic vision of man

If only many could look into the future and see the plans of God for them you will not fall into competition with anyone

The plans of God for each child is great and it should not fall under the radar of comparison or competition with another

Because a child is better or not in certain skill doesn't warrant maltreating that child should be put at odds with their siblings or any other child around them

It is natural to have a child you love more but it's is not divine or godly to show it at the detriment of their siblings

If you read that chapter very well you would have thought Rachel and Leah were strangers from beginning not knowing they were raised in same family

As parent always remember you are a custodian. God has placed those children or that child in your custody for a purpose

And that purpose doesn't include ruining their destiny or being at the centre of contention in their lives

Some family are in disunity because of the discord their parent sown inside their lives

As parent remember your future and that of your children is intertwined

Imagine damaging that child's present life now and you desire to be taken care of when the child grow up

: You will reap what you see except God touches that child to do right

And perhaps you find yourself at that position where your siblings just want to compete with you

You buy one thing today your sibling heard, and they just start running to acquire better

It's worth checking out if they are okay

I again saw under the sun that the race is not to the swift and the battle is not to the strong, and neither is bread to the wise nor riches to those of intelligence and understanding nor favour to men of ability; but time and chance overtake them all.

Ecclesiastes 9:11 AMP

https://bible.com/bible/1588/ecc.9.11.AMP

Looking at the scripture above race is not to the swift nor battle to the strong but time and chance happens to them all

The race of gaining the love of her husband drew Leah to have more children

Each child was just another key to get the love of Jacob and Rachel was running same battle

She wants to empower her own empire she even gave her maid to her husband

But she forgot time and chance happened to everyone

There is time and chance for each individual

For each child there is time and chance

: Because child A is excelling more than child B presently doesn't mean child B is a doomed failure

Every destiny has a road to pass before getting to their destination

If peradventure you fall into this type of toxic upbringing will advise you to let go of all hurts

Let go of all hates bottled up

If as parent, you find yourself doing this to your children it's time to back off and reflect on the impact of your actions

There is no point raising children that will end up being at war with each other when you're no more

What gain is it when you have already caused a dent in the relationship of your children either due to favouritism or whatever it may be

My prayer is that God will heal everyone who has been hurt due to rivalry

I also pray for siblings and families falling apart as a result of this that God almighty will heal you in Jesus name

The Bible stories we read are to enlighten us and guide our part. I pray that God will enable us to apply the wisdom from His word to guide us daily in Jesus name

For that parent who didn't even know their action hurts their children may God reveal to you the right way to go about situations in Jesus name

For anyone who due to growing up in polygamous or toxic home have developed lack of trust I want to advise you let go of everything to God and trust Him to help you through

I pray that we will not fail God in our parenthood in Jesus mighty name

I pray we will not use others clock and time in life to judge the plans of God for us but we will wait patiently for Him to fulfil His plans concerning us all in Jesus mighty name

Parental guidance, responsibility in uncertain times

*RAISING GODLY CHILDREN*
MON 27th of April 2020

ANCHOR: *Sis Leah*

*Topic;* Parental guidance and responsibilities in uncertain circumstances

What do you understand by

*Parental guidance*

*Responsibility*

*Uncertain circumstances*
Okay let me pick your brain brain🧠🧠
*Sis Queeneth*: Parental guidance is act of guiding children
*Sis Queeneth* : Responsibility is being responsible, accountable, answerable for a child
*Sis Funmi* : Parental guidance is an act of putting our children through
*Sis Queeneth*: Uncertain circumstances is not sure of something going on that you don't have ultimate power over.

*Parental guidance* is guiding your child by explaining the reasons, *pros and cons of their action and decisions*. ... *_If the child resists, the parent would act to correct, punish or prevent the child's undesirable behavior._*

This is from online dictionary
Parental guidance is the act of guiding our children.
*Parental responsibility* means the _legal rights, duties, powers, responsibilities and authority a parent has for a child and the child's property_. ...
*Uncertain circumstances* is to be unsure of something. Also, _uncertain things are undecided, unknown, or doubtful in some way._

I want to refer us to the story of a man in the Bible who was born a Nazarene...
Who can guess the name of the person please?
*Sis Funmi* : Samson
Yes Samson...
Hope you have your pen and Bible handy
From Judges 14-16
We have the story of samson
Samson was a child promised by the angel that visited the wife of Manish in Judges 14
Manish and his wife had been childless for so long one faithful day
An angel like creature appeared to the wife and told her she will bear a child
That was an amazing news to the wars of someone who probably have felt she will die childless
They were believers infact
In the intro of the Bible chapter
In chapter 13 not 14
It says and the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord and the lord delivered them into the hands of the Philistines
Judges 13:1
But verse 2 says there was a certain man from zorah of the family of Danites whose name was Manoah and his wife was barren and had no children but an angel of the lord appeared to her and said she will have a child
If you read further into that story specific instructions was Given.

The mum was given instructions what she can or cannot eat
And they were even told this child you must not cut his hair
That is a parental responsibility
Aside the fact that the mother was told not to eat certain things
Cause when you're pregnant the foetus feed on what you eat
That is why they tell pregnant ladies don't eat this eat that
Use folic acid
Do this and so on and so forth
That is parental responsibility.

So your responsibility as a parent start from conception not at the delivery room
Because a life is growing and nurturing through you
Fast forward to when he was born
He was a vessel on assignment
He was born to deliver Israel
I will urge you to go and read that chapter
I mean those chapters
He was born for a purpose but his parents had the responsibility
To guide him
So they had to make sure he was brought up in the will and way of the Lord
They had to make sure that they kept the instructions of the lord to letter
They had to make sure that they fulfill their own part of the deal as parent
They have to make sure that they do what God has called th to do impacting that child right.

But come to chapter 14
Samson had grown..
He decided to go to Timnah and saw a woman there
Of the tribe that is not his
She was a philistine
Same people God created him to use him to deliver Israel for
And he went to his father and insisted that he wanted to marry the lady
His parents were like Samson
Why this tribe is there no one here like
If it was this days you will start hearing in the entire kingdom of Cambodia you can't find anyone
Why do you want to go to cuba
No offense just an illustration

Samson was like
She please me
She is set
I want her
But one thing he forgot to acknowledge was if she please the lord
At this junction his parents had nothing they could do
But guess what God knew the end before the beginning
This was real uncertain times for his parents
*Sis sonia* : She is the one for me the bone of my bone lol
Parental love is incomparable
They supported him
Even though they themselves were uncertain
In fact a lot happened

On his way 🦁 lion came
This guy tore the lion with bare hands
And  he didn't tell his parents
When he returned back after sometime
There was honey in the car ass of the lion
🍯 honey he ate some and took to his parents and they didn't ask they too ate
Hmm parents... It is your responsibility to ask the source of what your child brings home
It doesn't matter how pleasing to the eyes it may be
Don't be overexcited and just say I am eating the fruit of my labour
Many parents whose children have ventured into crime
And they just see it as fruit of labour are eating fruit of curse and damnation.

Fast forward to that first wife getting killed
*Sis Lilian* : Long term curse at that
Generation to generation
Samson retaliate at first was supported by God
But as time went on Samson became angry
He was bent on his own ideas
He wanted what he wanted and believed none could stop him
He was power drunk a bit if I may say
He was like yes I am a Nazarene with power
*Sis Abimbola*: Hmmmnn that always lead to destruction
After his first wife and her family were burnt to death
Samson killed so many.

He went ahead and didn't learn still went on to meet Delilah
The ticket to his death and his ministry
We all know what happened to him
As Delilah help to orchestrate his downfall and he was also ready to be the prey
Because he loved what God didn't want for him
Samson ruled or led Israel for 20years and died with the Philistines
In his story after his first marriage we heard less of his parents
But some Bible scholar believed that his mother buried him
I pray none of us will bury our children in Jesus name
We will not cry over over our young ones
Affliction will not rise again I'm Jesus mighty name.

As parents there will be tiles that will look really uncertain
Times when you are not sure which way to go
But let me tell you if God gave you that Child you have somewhere to turn and that is God
You have someone to turn to and that is God
No matter who or how the circumstances may look right now it is never impossible for God
The parental guidance can work in two ways
Say for example the parent is the one in Trouble
But you have brought your child up in the way of the lord
That child is enough to raise prayer on your behalf
Because you have guided them right in the first place.

At these uncertain times around the world where parents are losing children vice versa
Many of us are overcoming
Because the foundation has been laid right in Christ
You cannot expect divine guidance where divinity has been shut out in the first place
Yes there will be children that will choose path other than what you have said or taught them
But I tell you there is a God that regenerate.

My question now is what type of parental guidance are you instilling in that child
What type of responsibility are you taking over your child
Do you know you can instill the true meaning and reason of responsibility in a child if you actually show them how to be
You cannot be a parent who spends weekend at the club and all party they can attend and expect a child that wants to live a quiet respectful and peaceful life
An adage in my language says
Owu ti iya gbon lo mo ran
That is the cotton which was left by the mother has become the garment of the child
That is the child's ways are replica of the parent
Basically apple doesn't fall far from the tree
What are you laying as example.

Now many are like we do not know tomorrow due to the whole situation around the world
Are you the parent that isn't enlightened enough talkless of enlightening your child
Are you ok instilling fear of the unknown daily in them because you are panic stricken
Are you telling that Child about God
Are you even doing what will make that child know indeed that God's got their back
What parental guidance are you offering, what responsibility are you showing and how are you encouraging that child to live above uncertainty

Samsons case could have been different if his parent didn't fade away in the picture when they ought to be very present and available
Yes some children may shut you out
Yes they may feel like they have seen the world and know it all
But there is a power a parent have over a child that can be enacted by prayer and faith in God
That child that is smoking can still be revived
That child that is wayward can still be the best
Don't say yes she is a black sheep and he is a black sheep and just treat them like that
You need to treat with love as the custodian God has made you

Don't forfeit your responsibility just because of uncertainty
Don't lose your guidance just because of the law of the land
You have something to guide you and it's the word of God
But remember leaders or teacher lead by example

 Let us pray

Lord almighty thank you for your word that you have sent to us this evening we do not take it for granted
Abba forgive us all and many parents who have totally lost their responsibility in anyways
Father help every parent struggling in anyway to raise their children in your will and your way
Lord under no circumstance do not let me bury any of my children and do not let my parents bury me
Father no matter the uncertainty around the world let me always live in the assurance and certainty of your word
Lord for as many looking to you for fruit of the womb give them unending joy this season let them carry their own child
Father for many parents facing uncertain times over their children either due to health issue whatever it may be prison term negative influence arise and break the seige and cause the heart of those children to be trimmed to you
