Almighty father I honour your name and glorify you for who you are

Lord thank you for your love for me and your grace that is sufficient for me

Lord thank you for the forgiveness of sin and your blood shed on Calvary for my sake

Lord eternal have mercy on me and remove all self gratification and self righteousness 

Lord remove all unforgivness that's lingering in my heart in Jesus name 

Lord purify me with your blood and change my heart to fit your purpose

Lord eliminate every pride and selfish gain from my life

Lord renew my spiritual state to align with your purpose always in Jesus name 

Lord help me, in any area I struggle with flesh deliver me completely 

Lord save me, and I will be saved in Jesus mighty name

Father arise over this nation and have mercy upon us in all areas, let your truth take preeminence in Jesus name

Lord keep my feet in your will and never let me walk into any form of destruction in Jesus name 

Lord henceforth give me grace to see people as you see them and love them as you want me to

Lord remove pride and hatred far from my life henceforth in Jesus name 

Lord help me in any area I struggle with sin, and unrighteousness in Jesus name

Living a Victorious Life as a Single in Today’s World

Anchor Text: Daniel 1:8

Daniel 1:8 TPT  

“[8] However, Daniel determined in his heart not to contaminate himself with the food and wine from the royal table, so he begged the chief official to exempt him from the royal diet.”  

Daniel 1:8 CEB  

“[8] Daniel decided that he wouldn’t pollute himself with the king’s rations or the royal wine, and he appealed to the chief official in hopes that he wouldn’t have to do so.”  

Daniel 1:8 KJV  

“[8] But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.”  

What Does It Mean to Be Victorious?

Victory is the experience of overcoming something challenging. To be victorious means living daily with the mindset and reality of a winner—someone who rises above battles, pressures, temptations, and difficult circumstances.

Every day, we face situations that make us question whether we are doing right or wrong. As believers, this tension is even stronger because the world we live in often moves in the opposite direction of God’s standards. Yet, Scripture reminds us that although we live in this world, we are not of it.

John 17:14, 16 NKJV  

“[14] I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.  

[16] They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.”  

Daniel’s Example: A Heart of Determination

In Daniel 1:8, we see that Daniel’s action began with a decision in his heart. Though he and his friends were taken captive, stripped of their identity, and placed under a system designed to reshape them, Daniel refused to be defiled. He chose God’s way over the king’s provision.

This mirrors the world young believers face today. You may grow up with strong values at home, but once you step outside, the world attempts to redefine you, entice you, and mold you into its own image. Yet the Scripture reminds us again—you are in this world, but not of it.

How Do I Live Victoriously as a Single Without Becoming Part of the World?

1. Guard Your Mind

Every action begins with a thought. Before you speak or act, your mind has already processed it. This is why the enemy targets the mind first. Living victoriously as a single person begins with what you allow to settle in your thoughts. A victorious life starts with a victorious mindset.

2. Understand Your Identity

Daniel understood who he was, and that shaped his decisions. If you don’t know your identity, the world will gladly assign you one. Identity influences direction, choices, and ultimately destiny.

You know your name—imagine living in a world eager to rename you while you remain unaware of who you truly are. That is the foundation of a defeated life.

Your identity fuels your purpose. God knew you before you were born, and He has a plan for you.

Jeremiah 29:11 NKJV  

“[11] For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”  

When you understand God’s plan, you realize that singleness is a phase—not a problem. It is a season to build, grow, and align yourself with God’s purpose so that when marriage comes, you are not settling for the “king’s meat” but walking in God’s will.

3. Purpose Leads to Fulfillment

Purpose may come through your studies, passions, or experiences, but when God is involved, it aligns with His will and brings peace. Challenges may arise, but purpose gives you the strength to stand victorious—just like the Hebrew boys. They knew their purpose, so the fiery furnace was not their end but a platform for transformation and testimony.

What Should I Do to Stay Victorious?

• Don’t Live Pitifully or Rush Into Things

Many rush into relationships or marriage out of pressure, comparison, or pity. But your journey is unique. You don’t need to mirror anyone else’s timeline.

• Build Your Career and Education

Your single season is a time to explore, grow, and establish yourself. Marriage unites two people with different backgrounds and values. If you lack direction or purpose before marriage, it may hinder your future.

• Believe in Yourself

Identify what you want to do in life and pursue it boldly. Don’t merely exist—live purposefully. Daniel and his friends were slaves, yet they lived with conviction. They refused Nebuchadnezzar’s demands, stood on God’s word, and thrived. Their faith influenced a nation.

Let your life reflect Christ. That is true victory.

• Do Not Conform to This World

Romans 12:1–2 NKJV  

“[1] I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.  

[2] And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”  

This scripture again emphasizes the mind. But it also warns against conformity. You cannot live victoriously while trying to fit into every worldly mold. You cannot be in the club today and lifting holy hands tomorrow while living in immorality.

You are either in the world and of the world, or in the world and of the Word.

Conformity leads to destruction. It can push you into relationships not ordained by God, making you an in-law to the enemy of your soul.

Final Charge

As a child of God, He desires the best for you. You can achieve your goals in your single season and continue walking in His plan afterward. But like Daniel, you must determine in your heart to put God first.

Victory begins with a decision.
