Parenting

*Parenting* is not an easily acquired skill, but it takes the direction of God to parent the way He wants us to. It is important to note that no parent owns their child. Rather, parents are custodians because God owns everything.

As a child of God, especially as a Christian with a relationship with Christ, you get to a point in parenting where you realise, “This is God and not my doing.” It is always important to acknowledge that our physical presence, intelligence, and other abilities might not always be enough to parent rightly, but they can certainly be beneficial.

When we involve God with all that we have—emotionally, spiritually, financially, and in every other area—we begin to realise that we are able to parent with God.

One of the misconceptions people often have is that parenting alone and parenting with a partner come with significant differences. While that might be true in some cases, it is not always the case for everyone.

Some people parent with partners yet do not take God as their partner, while others parent alone but have the leadership and partnership of God.

Today, we will be hearing from parents about how they navigate parenting and why one of them chooses to denounce the term “single parent” when referring to themselves.
