Text: Luke 13:10-17 AKJV
"10 And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath. 11 And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself. 12 And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity. 13 And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God. 14 And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because that Jesus had healed on the sabbath day, and said unto the people, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the sabbath day. 15 The Lord then answered him, and said, Thou hypocrite, doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away to watering? 16 And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day? 17 And when he had said these things, all his adversaries were ashamed: and all the people rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him."
When something is said to be divine, it means the things is extra-ordinary, it is a miracle, it has supernatural existence over it or in it. When we talk about Divine Health it means health that is ruled by supernatural godly power. Such health can not face affliction from any other power. Such health cannot know pain, aches, hospitalisation because the blood and all organs are subject to the power of God and protected from any harm.
The woman in the scripture had been crippled for eighteen years, I can only imagine what sought of pain, shame limitation, abuse, suffering among other things she must have gone through. Sitting in a wrong position or standing in a wrong way can easily affect our bones and cause pain. Now think of someone that was crippled or bowed together as described in the Authorised King James Version. If she was bowed that means her wiast will bend backward like she was trying to stoop to get something but that wasn't the case she was not just trying to stoop but that had been her position for eighteen years.
How did she feed, bath, if she was still doing her periods how did she cater for herself generally. If she was born that way we would say it was from birth a defect or something but it happened at the prime of her years. The infirmity kept her in a state she probably detested so bad. It is believed that this woman suffered from some form of spinal deformity or curvature. I have seen people with osteoporosis and I see how bent their spine is especially down from there neck line to mid back. it's something that happens over the years and gradually deforms the spine. Bible Scholars make us understand that she was bent from the waist forward. The age of this woman was not stated but for her to be able to come to the synagogue where she encountered Jesus Christ for her healing she must have been able to walk with support.
At times people suffer from conditions that make life so much unbearable, conditions that turn around the focus of that person to the present situation. Condition that doctors say confidently that there is no way out, conditions that family members gets tired of the one that is sick, condition where the sick begs for death just to come out of mystery imposed on them by the ill health. How great and majestic is out maker, the Holy one of Israel, He is so powerful that he will not forsake His own.
When that woman walked into the synagogue her utmost heart desire would have be healing how it would be done she didn't know. She was aware of who was teaching in the synagogue and that was Jesus Christ the mighty warrior. She must have heard of the wonders he had done. She didn't get discouraged that it was a Sabbath day. She just went and as God will be glorified in her life her faith met with Jesus and when He said woman thou hath loosed from infirmity instantly she became straightened. Infirmity shows that she was afflicted by satan, it was not part of her, that thing entered her body one day but what the infirmity didn't know was the lady would get healed that day.
When the leader of the synagogue queried Jesus for healing her on Sabbath day he called them hypocrites that if they can attend to the needs of their animals on the same day how much more the daughter of Abraham. You are a child of Abraham because you are in Christ "And if you are Christ's, then are you Abraham's descendants, and heirs according to the promise" Galatians 3:29KJV
The rulers of synagogue must have come across this woman at some point but they never thought to advice her to come and meet Jesus and when she finally met her break through they begin to query Jesus. Does this sound familiar to you, your situation might not be health, it may be something else. There are people who are aware of how solution can come but they refuse to inform you but the moment they see that you break forth they will start spreading different news, from how you didn't deserve it to it being diabolical all sought will be said but God will remain God all through.
If God can heal that woman and change her situation from getting unnecessary staring eyes on her wherever she goes yours is not difficult. If God can speak a word into the woman and lose her from infirmity what is it that you are held bound in I decree in Jesus name that you are made loose in Jesus name. No matter what the circumstances may be no matter how long you have been in that same position today be loosed in Jesus name.
Let Us Pray
Lord I thank you for another opportunity to receive your word in Jesus name
Mighty God have mercy on me and forgive all my short comings in Jesus name
Father I come to you just as I am and I pray that you set me loose from all bondage in Jesus name
I decree upon that report (hold it if you have it) I decree that that which is impossible for man that God begin to make it possible in Jesus name
I decree that every man or woman rejoicing over my predicament separate me from them and so that which will bring them to know my God better now in Jesus name
I decree that every known or unknown causes of my problem Jehovah arise and begin to put permanent stop that will lead to my breakthrough on it right now in Jesus name
Lord I cry to you this day take me out of every bent situation spiritually, physically, financially, maritally, academically or any aspect of my life that I do not know of in Jesus name
Father let that which the enemy had planned to ruin me turn around to build me and use it to your glory and my destiny fulfilment in Jesus name
Lord I will testify, help my unbelief and make my testimony soon and permanent in Jesus name
Thank You Jesus for answered prayers in Jesus name
