Todays Topic is more of a question and it say *In whose name?*
I believe we all understand that salvation comes through Jesus alone according to *John 3:16*
One of the scriptures for today's Bible studies highlights some events that happened in the old Testament. No other person paid for the salvation of mankind but our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ.
In 2kings 1:10-13 Elijah called fire down from heaven stating that if he be man of God fire should come down upon the captain of fifty and it happened as he said. In 1 Kings 18:38-39 it is stated that the fire of the Lord fell and consumed the burnt sacrifice... When the people saw it they fell on their faces and said *The Lord he is God*.
The question for today's Bible studies says *What is the scriptural password for our prayers*
Most of us have smart phones or laptop or gadgets that requires we set password for privacy. If the password for your gadget is numbers alone and you are using letters it will not open. After certain trial it will either lock the device or ask you to try later. Even our emails and social media account if you forget the password you will either end up losing the email or the account depending on how you have tried or if you can or cannot retrieve your security word to change the password.
Rights, according to *Acts 19:13-16* some jews were exorcists and were ready to cast out evil spirit and they were using the name of Jesus *whom paul preachest* but the spirit said to them. *Jesus I know and Paul I know but who are you* This is a question that is so straight forward.. These people did not know Jesus themself nor have personal relationship with Christ.
That was why they said *In the name of Jesus whom Paul preachest* You must have heard the slogan *Salvation is personal*
It's not just a personal race but it entails a *Personal relationship with the saviour*
There is one thing about salvation. One would have thought, But these jewish vagabonds said in the name of Jesus
Yes they did but they lack understanding of the power in the name and the relationship to make them qualified to use that name.
*I don't know if you have watched movies where people will be having dreams and they are getting attacked by evil spirit and they are saying or quoting the scripture then the evil spirit will use another scripture to combart them if they are not well rooted they fail and the evil spirit overcome them*
This is similar to the Jewish vagabonds they have heard about Jesus but they don't know Jesus
*_You can be going to church, be a worker in church yet lack the relationship with Jesus_*
In the case of Elijah He said with confidence If I be Man of God let fire come down and fire came down... That shows the extent of His relationship and the people said *your Lord indeed is God* John 10:30 let us understand that Christ and God are one.
Going back to the Password for prayers to be answered Phillipians 2:9-11 says wherefore God also hath highly *exalted him(Jesus), and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow of things in earth, and things under the earth and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the father*
From this scripture we can understand that the password for any genuine prayer a child of God makes is the name of *Jesus* not *IJN* not *IJMN*
It is the name of *Jesus*
It is not *fire* 🔥
*Some one wrote something recently and said many people are more conversant and inclined to their church doctrine than they know Christ personally*
When Elijah called fire down Christ hasn't come to earth in form of man. But even the people still said *your lord is God*
The name of Jesus is powerful. Then when Christ came to die for us to merge that eternal seperation between God and man we were empowered by and with His name. But it is only relevant and powerful for those who believe in Him and have relationship with Him.
It is not written anywhere in the scripture that if you want your prayer answered say in Jesus name fire 🔥.
No that is why Jos 1:8 says the book of the law shall not depart from my mouth I shall meditate on it day and night. The Bible says study to show yourself approved.
You will never see a surgeon in the theatre going in with make up and cooking kit no way He/she must be equiped with theatre tools which is why theatre techicians are there to make sure that everything is in place.
By studying the word of God we build our relationship with God and the Holy Spirit enlightens us. We are more discerning when we study the word of God.
Jesus wants to dine with you and I and we must be opened to such invitation by opening up to have a personal relationship with Him. We have divine understanding and utterances when we study the word of God.
The name of Jesus is the only true name recognised in heaven on earth under the earth for prayers to be answered.
We are no longer carried away by ungodly way of praying. The name of Jesus lifts barriers, If you pray in the name of God of your pastor or church leader you might pray amiss. Because only God knows who the God of that leader is.
A true called leader will not tell you to insert their name before the name that is above every other name. No matter how we decree and confess we must back it up with the name of Jesus.
A true minister of God will pray in Jesus name.
There is power in His name, Miracles happen in His name. Let me share an example of how the name of Jesus can even turn instant decision if we believe and have relationship with God
_I was expecting a result of a test I did, I have waited endlessly. Calling back and forth as the result needs to come out._ Anyway weeks later _I called because I was worried and wondering what was happening._ _When I finally got through to the examiner. I was told there was something that happened that delayed the result and it was friday the next day I can come was Tuesday_ Right on the phone I said *Jesus Jesus Jesus*
_Because that will be another extra waiting time. The examiner said you know what can you come down now although we don't attend to such issue today but just come now_
_I got there and all was sorted to the glory of God_
What am I insinuating that name *Jesus* is powerful enough its the password to all our prayers and request.
If you called fire in replacement of Jesus name nothing will happen but if you call His name He can decide to send fire to consume what you want fire to consume because our God is a consuming Fire. Incline yourself to getting use to using His name. *From Today's studies let us encourage ourselves to have a closer relationship with the name of Jesus*
That name moves mountain and His name is the password. May He enlighten us better in Jesus name.
I pray in anyway we have not taken using His name the Lord lead us right Jesus name.
May the Holy Spirit speak to us all in Jesus name.
The only name above every other name will speak to our situations in Jesus name.
Also can I add that we give reverence to the name of Jesus always either on social media or anywhere.
*Stop abbreviating it as IJN, IJMN*
It takes nothing from us to write in Jesus mighty name. Don't be in so much hurry that you will abbreviate the name of God. God is above every other thing even social media.
Take it upon yourself to be used to writing the name of the Lord in full
May God help us all in Jesus name. If you can't write you have already said amen in Jesus name please don't abbreviate it.
