Theme: "Seeing God Face - to - Face"
Text: Genesis 32:30 NLT "Jacob named the place Peniel (which means “face of God”), for he said, “I have seen God face to face, yet my life has been spared.”
Day 3 Thursday 31st July
When something or someone is said to be seen face to face, there is a physical appearance. In the case of Jacob He was waiting on God (Genesis 30:24) he decided to be left alone. It is vital to set apart a time when you are away from the hussle of this world and seek the face of your maker not in a hurry but in total surrender releasing all to Him alone. If you read from Genesis 32:1, you would see that Jacob was planning to go and apologise to Esau his brother infact he made all necessary arrangements. He made his plan to restitute where need be but before embarking on the journey himself, he went back to his creator to seek his face and hand. To his surprise God came in form of man to wrestle with him.
In Genesis 32:28 his name was changed from Jacob to Isreal by the unchangeable changer. He was broken by God, God will always take impurity out of anyman's life to make him pure and useful. Jacob was a supplanter before he wrestled with the angel. A supplanter because he purposely took the place of Esau Genesis 27:21-28. God sees our heart as human and he knows how impure we are even when we appear pure before ourselves and men. You can't work with God in deceit because He can't be deceived. Jacob had to prevail in his wrestle with the angel before he was blessed even in his broken state he still wanted an answer from the angel he wrestled with. (Genesis 30:29).
Jacob saw God face to face and lived protocol was broken because God permitted it. It is written in the Bible that no man sees God face to face and live but Israel (Jacob) did. Your dilligent walk with God can cause you to see the face of God. In Genesis 35:9 God appeared to Jacob again to remind him that He is no longer Jacob but Israel. This applies to most of us even when God has confirmed our newness after washing all impurity we still go by doing things in the old way tagging along with the old self instead of living the rebranded life God had given us.
After the encounter Israel (Jacob) had with God, his life completely changed. The promises of God begin to manifest. Nations that rose against him experienced defeat because God was with him. His name became an household name everyone wanted to be part of his family one way or the other (Genesis 34:8-10). God is speaking to us to create time for Him in our busy schedule and as He breaks us to bring out impurity we should be willint to grow high as He is taking us high. When the changes God is making in you start manifesting people will want to be connected to you by all means. This is because you are not just going to be blessed but be a blessing.
As we wait on God don't do it to please man but please God to have a divine encounter that will not only change your destiny but that of your generation. Favour of God and His mercy will cause us to see Him and encounter change in all areas of our lives in Jesus name amen. Seek God until you see Him, you might lose things along the line just like Jacob's hip was dislocated, you might need to have a change that will affect your generation just like Jacob's name was changed to Israel and it eventually affected his generation.
Seeking God's face can't kill you but it will kill the flesh in you in order for you to be useful to yourself and God. Having a Peniel experience might cause you to swallow your pride and make necessary adjustment for advancement. It might mean you stooping low just for God to pull you high. Don't be complacent in your walk with God that way even when you are broken and injured like Jacob you won't allow pride to speak you into saying well I am not bothered it's only a joint I can manage but you will become helpless and shout I WILL NOT LEAVE YOU UNTIL YOU BLESS ME.
Prayer
Lord thank you for giving me grace to partake in this end of month's fasting and prayers.
Lord increase your capacity in the life of all that have shared the word and prayer for this month's fasting and prayer fill them afresh and continue to use them for greater works in Jesus name.
Lord I want to walk with you enable me to and carry me when my weakness is giving me troubles in Jesus name.
Oh Lord I want to see you in all I do father increase your presence in and around me in Jesus name amen.
Father you wrestled with Jacob and change his life, father cause a divine encounter that will bring about change in my life today in Jesus name amen.
My father change every attitude of supplanter in my life that is withholding my progress physically, spiritually, financially and maritally in Jesus name amen.
Father let your sweet spirit and thirst for more of you increase in me henceforth in Jesus name amen.
Lord as I go into the month of August Jehovah give me an uncommon testimony in all areas of my life in Jesus name amen.
Father make August a month of Havest of blessings, divine breakthrough, divine visitation and closer walk with you in Jesus name.
My Lord as I seek your face let me not only see your face but your hand as well in all I do in Jesus name amen.
Thank you Lord for the victory you have given me in Jesus name amen.
Congratulations may we live to witness the outcome of our waiting in Jesus name amen.
Greater you in the August and henceforth in Jesus name amen.
