When it's not enough

*Be Inspired Bible Studies, Thursday 22nd October 2020*

*Anchor:*  Sis Leah

*Theme:* When It's Not Enough

*Text:* Now the day was ending, and the twelve [disciples] came and said to Him, “Send the crowd away, so that they may go into the surrounding villages and countryside and find lodging, and get provisions; because here we are in an isolated place.” But He said to them, “You give them something to eat.” They said, “We have no more than five loaves and two fish—unless perhaps we go and buy food for all these people.” (For there were about 5,000 men.) And He said to His disciples, “Have them sit down to eat in groups of about fifty each.”  They did so, and had them all sit down. Then He took the five loaves and the two fish, and He looked up to heaven [and gave thanks] and blessed them, and broke them and kept giving them to the disciples to set before the crowd. They all ate and were [completely] satisfied; and the broken pieces which they had left over were [abundant and were] picked up—twelve baskets full.
Luke 9:12‭-‬17 AMP

Glory be to God for another opportunity to share the word of God.

The word of God is a manual that we can use any time for any situation no matter how science, technology, modernization, government tries to play or present it.

Father, thank you for another time to dig deep into your word. Thank you for releasing the fresh unction and the Holy Spirit to teach us  always. You deserve all our worship. Speak through and to us this day in Jesus name. Amen.

In Luke 9:12-17, in fact, it's recorded in all the first four books of the New Testament what happened after a crowd gathered and it was drawing near to night time. These people refused to leave, they had travelled long, yet they just wanted to hear from the Master. It looked like it's not enough whatever they might have heard.

When Jesus said to the disciples if there was food, one of them said even if they should get food it wouldn't be enough. Jesus being God - Jehovah Jireh - knew this was another time to do what only He can do.

He asked them to give Him the five loaves of bread and two fishes that was available. Alas! Master, we have 5000 men here not counting the women and children so they must have been like 10 000 people there.

Jesus didn't get discouraged by this. Instead He collected the token, the five loaves of bread and two fishes and, guess what? He gave thanks.

Isn't that ridiculous? In the face of adversity why do we have to give thanks, when what we have presently is not even enough?

He then blessed the food, then they started distributing. They distributed till everyone had eaten and was full. So the provision met the requirements of everyone. Those who had large portion of food and those who had tiny portion, everyone had more than enough and there was left over. From the five loaves of bread and two fishes they had left over of twelve baskets full.

*_A song by the group Livré goes thus:_*

_An amazing God didn't give up when all lost hope_
_An awesome love took the fall for all my sins_
_Incredible you are; Alpha and Omega_
_Shouldn't have made it this far_
_But you thought of me and gave your all._

*God will never forget you. Ok, let me say it again: God will never forget you.*

He will never forget us. This year or the years some of us have lived, it appears that things ain't even enough, then we get into the suggestion mode like the disciples.

Some of us have entered into questioning mode. We are like: God, why is this happening?
Why is that happening? Are you not God?
Don't you exist?
Where are you?

Or we are suggesting what He already knows the end. We are like: God, you can see how I have being trying to pull through these years, these situations are becoming overwhelming. I don't even think I have enough.

At times it's not about the material things that aren't enough but our energy and drive to continue can seem not to be enough.

But God is asking: What is it that you have? You are saying: God, I have just 20% left, and He is like: Just bring it, use it for me, allow me to use that remaining energy.

What we don't know is, He is ready to replace and replenish where needed. It doesn't matter how weak we are right now.

It doesn't matter what is not enough now. Can you hand it over to God?

One of the things that shows how dedicated and how knitted our relationship with God is, is when we return to Him even when it looks like we can't stand any more. When we feel like it's already gone.

That song shared earlier says *_He didn't give up when I lost hope, because He is an incredible God, He is Alpha and Omega._*

I want to encourage you with the word today. When it looks like it's not enough remember God was there in the beginning, He is there now and He will be there at the end because He is the main Source.

Let us Pray.

Father, I thank you for your word that you have sent to me today.

Lord, forgive me in any way I have lamented so much instead of coming to you.

Lord, henceforth I release all that I have been holding on to, the hurt, the pain, the doubt and I pray you replace it with healing and freedom.

Father, we lift this nation unto you, fix all that needs to be fixed because you are the Alpha and Omega.

Personal Prayer.

Thank you Jesus for answered prayers in Jesus name.
