Be Inspired End of The Month Prayer and Fasting

Be Inspired End of The Month Prayer and Fasting 26th to 28th February 2019

Theme; Living in the peace of God

Text: Only in the land of Goshen, where the children of Israel were, was there no hail.Exodus 9:26 KJV

Praise be to God almighty for the privilege He gives to us everyday and for His word that He said to us daily. Heavenly father we worship your name, we magnify you king of glory for what you have planned for us even as this month ends and we embark on another month journey in this beautiful year of favour. We adore you king of kings for we know you have settled all that concerns us. Lord eternal as we read your word today speak through the writer to the the writer and the reader and glorify yourself in Jesus mighty name Amen.

Peace of God is beyond what our mind can explain. It is a divine actualisation and manifestation that is at work in our soul and spirit that is why it is a peace that comes from within and affects our physiques and everything around us.

The scripture for our main text is from a story that is quite famous from Bible stories. The children of Israel resided in Goshen this was since the days of Joseph being the prime minister but the  Pharaoh on the throne had no encounter with Joseph. As we know God hardened the heart of Pharaoh. This brings me to how the leadership of a place can disrupt the peace of the place but it does not mean everyone will partake in the unrest. In the days of Israel's slavery in Egypt probably not every Egyptian was nasty to Israelites but when the plaque came they paid for the sin of their leader Pharaoh alongside the fact that they were Egyptians.

As yet exaltest thou thyself against my people, that thou wilt not let them go?  Behold, to morrow about this time I will cause it to rain a very grievous hail, such as hath not been in Egypt since the foundation thereof even until now.  Send therefore now, and gather thy cattle, and all that thou hast in the field; for upon every man and beast which shall be found in the field, and shall not be brought home, the hail shall come down upon them, and they shall die.  He that feared the word of the Lord among the servants of Pharaoh made his servants and his cattle flee into the houses:  And he that regarded not the word of the Lord left his servants and his cattle in the field.  And the Lord said unto Moses, Stretch forth thine hand toward heaven, that there may be hail in all the land of Egypt, upon man, and upon beast, and upon every herb of the field, throughout the land of Egypt.  And Moses stretched forth his rod toward heaven: and the Lord sent thunder and hail, and the fire ran along upon the ground; and the Lord rained hail upon the land of Egypt.  So there was hail, and fire mingled with the hail, very grievous, such as there was none like it in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation.  And the hail smote throughout all the land of Egypt all that was in the field, both man and beast; and the hail smote every herb of the field, and brake every tree of the field.  Only in the land of Goshen, where the children of Israel were, was there no hail. Exodus 9:17‭-‬26 KJV

From the above portion the people of Egypt lacked peace of God among them because their leader was not doing the will of God. To live in and enjoy the peace of God you must obey God but it is quite difficult or unforseen if you don't even know God for you to obey Him. You need to know who He is. Moses prior to being a leader for Israelites was a prince of Egypt, before God could use him, he had an encounter in the Bush with God where God called him and directed him. Had it being Moses didn't have that encounter it would have been rather impossible for him to enjoy the peace of God or even live in it while all those plaque happened.

Looking at Goshen on the map recently it is 10000km away from Egypt. They were close enough but while people of Egypt suffered the wrath of God Israelites where living in the peace of God. How ironic the slave rulers where living in fear and so much unrest yet the slaves were living in peace. The slaves of Egypt were actually God's beloved children.

At times we wonder if God really cares and we even question How can I possibly live in the so called peace of God if all this is happening around me. What I see far outweighs my believe.
Psalms 125:2 says "Those who trust in the Lord are as mount Zion who cannot be moves but abides forever."
You cannot enjoy or live in the peace of God except you trust in Him. It is not even possible to trust someone you do not know or ever had an encounter with. The Israelites had foundation in God they knew that they served a unique God which was totally different from the God of Egyptian hence why they obeyed Moses.

We live in a world where we see all types of things that shakes our faith. Even in our own home there are things that we wonder how can peace reign here but living in the peace of God comes from within our soul. Our spirit man and soul must be in agreement enjoying that peace for our body to enjoy the peace.

I have worked with people dying and I remembered a  particular person I got so involved with. This person had the verdict of death passed on to them through their diagnosis and the first time I had a conversation with the person, the person was so gloomy it was so bad the person switched the light of their room off constantly. At first I was like how do I get through to this person, I prayed within my heart for strength and right utterance. To the glory of God my first treatment for this person went more of like motivation and counselling to be able to get through to them. The person had lost hope but by the end of two weeks of treatment I had someone waiting to see me each day with big grin on their face and ready to tell me what happened the previous day when I wasn't there. This person could hardly walk few meters but by the end the person was doing over 20 meters. The person told me something that they had lost their peace and trust in God but after that first day they saw reasons why they should keep pushing.

At times life serve us plates of hard things to chew or swallow but if the presence of God is in charge we take it with peace of God and we overcome beyond our natural human reasoning. Living in the peace of God is the only way a believer can live in this present world.

Day by Day we see things that questions our faith, situations that make us push in prayers or give up. By living in the peace of God we walk by faith even in the midst of all darkness we know God is shining His light. Even when the fridge is empty we know that God will not leave us hungry. Even when the bills are pilling up we know God will make a way. We believe God through and through when we live in His peace. When we live in His peace no matter what the challenge is Just as the children of Israel were untouched, nothing disturbed them, they were not shaken, they didn't doubt God. Their faith increased, that is what the peace of God does to us.

Yes! it may look unbearable, you might wonder how is it going to be, what will end this, let me tell you this too shall pass away. 2 Corithians 4:8-10 NIV "We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed, perplexed but not in despair, persecuted but not abandoned; struck down but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body".

Living in the peace of God gives us confidence to affirm His word, thou we are pushed and tugged in all areas but because we have God in us we are not and can never be destroyed no way. so today I want to encourage you to embrace living in the peace of God but you must know Jesus first to live in His peace. By knowing Jesus you agree to have the Prince of peace live in you. So when the prince of peace lives in you, you automatically begin to manifest in His peace.

I saw an autobiography of a preacher who as a child could not match up to his mates. They kind of bullied him as a child. When he grew up he worked in different industries but kept having the leading to go into full time ministry. Fast forward to when he became a preacher starting from preaching on the street to mini church to mega congregation. His fame and church growth was queried by the authorities of the country. Infact he was jailed but in the midst of all these challenges He lived in the peace of God. They tried severally to pin different allegations on him but he always had his Bible to go back into the word. Even when he was jailed he was busy reading his Bible and preaching in the jail. When he was released from prison he made it a duty to share Bibles to the inmates. He knew that God had already delivered and set him free, he knew that God had a purpose in the midst of the turmoil. When you live in the peace of God you will understand Psalms 91:5-7 NIV "You will not fear the terror that flies by day, nor the arrow that flies by day, not the pestilence that stalks in the darkness not the plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your side ten thousands at your right hand but it will not come near you. You will only observe with your eyes and see the purnishment of the wicked." You can only enjoy living in the peace of God in the midst of unrest if He is the Lord of your life.

If you are yet to know Christ or accept Him as your lord and saviour I want you to accept Him today. Quit living in this world denying yourself of your God ordained divine right of living in His peace. Say Lord Jesus I come to you this day, I repent of my sin, come this day and live in me, lead me in my life and be my lord and saviour in Jesus name.
