The text I will refer to for this article is taken from *Luke 14:28-30.*
For which of you, wishing to build a farm building, does not first sit down and calculate the cost [to see] whether he has sufficient means to finish it? Otherwise, when he has laid the foundation and is unable to complete [the building], all who see it will begin to mock and jeer at him, Saying, This man began to build and was not able (worth enough) to finish.

Before I dive into writing what has been placed in my spirit man let us pray. Lord Jesus I thank you for another opportunity to be used as a mouth piece or hand piece to share this message. I ask you father, that you have your way through the word. Speak to me and speak to all that will read this and let your spirit teach us all in Jesus name amen.
To plan means to have a proposal toward a set goal or an achievement. There is a saying that "if you fail to plan, you plan to fail."
*Planning is something some human beings fail to practice even in the smallest details of their life because they do not see it as important.*
Planning our lives and what we do is essential not just as a believer but as a human being who desire to live a fruitful life on the face of this planet earth.
The scripture reference is a question and answer at the same time. Our Lord Jesus Christ asked a question linked to a scenario that whoever is planning to build a farm will they not sit and count the cost, know the estimate and see what they have and how it will be sufficient for their plan because if they don't their plan will be half baked which is between the original state and not close to the finished line.
In parenting for example, planning is essential. Let's pardon the generations who had no foresight of what they ought to put in place for the next generation. The economy in their times was probably great and all some of them did was have children and babies on end. Some failed to look into the foreseeable probability of situations that could go sour like loss of job, death, sickness, loss of finance that will lead to dire needs and the children will suffer greatly.
Having said that we had those who still planned even though they grew up in that generation. Fast forward to the current generation, knowledge has vastly increased just as the scripture predicted and this time it will be a grave mistake not to plan your life, who you want to bring into your life and how you want your life to go by the grace of God.
As a true believer your plans without God might end up becoming a disaster but with God it would come out as He planned it.
To start with if you are a parent what plans do you have in place for your children, aside leaving them to Christ taking them to church and obviously exercising your parental rights do you teach them life skills.
Some parents believe all life skills or majority would be learned from school or through education but actual facts are most learned from what your child or children see you do.
Let us start from finance for example, your child doesn't have to be a teenager before they understand what financial security and financial management is. You may say we do not have a lot we live from pay cheque to pay cheque but you can instil in them how important it is not to live that way, how important it is to save even if it's the smallest they can it is something.
Teach your child how not to live beyond their means, how not to get caught in fast life, how not to cover what they don't have by all means because these and other things are what leads many people into a troubled life.
Some parents are used to saying, after University you can get married but you fail to give the actual fact. That being financially able, financially independent and financially sustainable is more important than just rushing into someone's life and starting another family.
*Does that child know how much it would cost them to live alone and pay up their bills?*
*Does that child know how employable they are based on their skills?*
*Does that child know if they're an entrepreneur or not?*
Some believers look at the wealthy and they wonder, some have generational wealth because someone took time to plan and instilled that into the others and it became a chain reaction and action within that generation.
Life is about making the right plan according to the will of God. Planning to marry for example, it's not ideal to just go into marriage because of the sexual satisfaction or material satisfaction. It is important to understand what companionship does in any relationship especially marriage and that can only be foreseen if you have your life planned out by God. Don't marry just to tick a societal or personal bucket list.
It is worth planning how you live your life because the fruit will always wait for you at some point in life.
If you are a parent or aspire to be one it's worth putting a penny or more in saving for the foreseeable future not just for your children but for yourself. Those children you labour all your life for will grow up and live their life. Some will not think twice before abandoning you not because they want to but because the journey of life has redirected their journey in a direction far from yours. If you are lucky enough they might put you in an elderly home, if you are favoured enough they might accommodate you in their own home.
However, if you planned for your retirement and don't make them your retirement plan, you will not live your old age in despair and pain due to neglect and isolation.
Another aspect of planning in life is, planning for eternity. How are you planning for eternity, you will not be on this earth forever, you will leave one day just as you came one day.
Many or some may cry at the loss, some media outlets may cover the NEWS or not. Folks, Friends and families will probably gather to talk about the loss but in a couple of months your existence will become a dream but the actual fact is your journey has not ended because you are going on the eternity journey. How you live here will determine where that journey leads you. Heaven or hell you need to plan not by giving your life to Christ and living for Him regardless.
Do you know that most of the ministers of the gospel you have heard, seen, sat under their ministration have their lives planned out, they even plan for their children born or unborn generations. They have the foundation laid already so what is your plan for life?
*May the Lord grant us divine clarity and understanding in planning our lives so we don't plan to fail or fail to plan in Jesus name amen.*
Lord thank you for your word, thank you for the scripture and the enlightenment we receive through the word.
Lord help me to live a life planned according to your will henceforth.
Lord help me to break generational failure based on failure to plan in your will.
Lord speak to me, open my eyes and mind to receive clarity on how to plan my life going forward in Jesus name amen.
Thank you Lord for answering prayers in Jesus name amen.
