Topic *The mind and judgement*

*Text*
Judge not [neither pronouncing judgment nor subjecting to censure], and you will not be judged; do not condemn and pronounce guilty, and you will not be condemned and pronounced guilty; acquit and forgive and release (give up resentment, let it drop), and you will be acquitted and forgiven and released.
Luke 6:37 AMPC

DO NOT judge and criticize and condemn others, so that you may not be judged and criticized and condemned yourselves. For just as you judge and criticize and condemn others, you will be judged and criticized and condemned, and in accordance with the measure you [use to] deal out to others, it will be dealt out again to you. Why do you stare from without at the very small particle that is in your brother's eye but do not become aware of and consider the beam of timber that is in your own eye?
Matthew 7:1‭-‬3 AMPC

Praise be to God the one who is the everlasting king. He is able to do all things beyond our understanding. Lord as we go into the word teach us, give us clarity, wisdom and knowledge to the glory of your name in Jesus mighty name amen.

When you hear the word judge,🎯🏛️ different things come to mind, like the law system, judge in the panel of a game or show. These are noun of the word. All these are right but the word judge (from judgement) that we will be looking at is the verb and it means conclusion or to have a formed opinion about something.

The *word judgement* means to make a formed decision about something or someone. *Mind* is the ability of a person to reason, it relates to the intellect.

In this life we all have a formed opinion that is shaped by what we see, hear or know. It is formed by our senses, culture, environment and awareness.

The word of God warn us not to judge. Matthew 7:1-3 said we should not judge or criticize and to cap it all the measure with which you judge or criticize will be given to you.

Luke 6:37 says thesame thing as Mathew. The scripture let us know that God is the ultimate judge.

You might be wondering what about people whose chosen profession puts them in line to judge. I believe it's a different situation. However, if they use their authority or capacity to abuse anyone they will answer to God.

Someone told a story of how he was looking for a job. He was given a date to attend an interview. On getting to the area, he couldn't locate the place on time and the scheduled time for interview was fast approaching. While looking around he saw a man who just finished smoking and reluctantly approached him for help. The reason he was reluctant was because he is a believer and he somehow looked at the man like he was a druggie (drug addict). The man assisted him by taking him to the right office, the surprising part was the man he saw was one of the interview panel. In fact he had the final say for the position. This person got the job at the end.

At times believers have formed opinion about someone, they do not know what the person is going through or what stage they are in life. I always remind myself, that I can never know what someone is going through except I am walking in their shoes and going through the season with them.

It is important to remind ourselves that God has not made us a judge over anyone or any group of people.

This leads us to the word in Romans 12 and I will be sharing another understanding.

I APPEAL to you therefore, brethren, and beg of you in view of [all] the mercies of God, to make a decisive dedication of your bodies [presenting all your members and faculties] as a living sacrifice, holy (devoted, consecrated) and well pleasing to God, which is your reasonable (rational, intelligent) service and spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you].
Romans 12:1‭-‬2 AMPC

Renewing of the mind is done through reading and meditating on the word of God. There is no way you have the word of God in your mind that you will not want to understand or see the world from His perspective.

This now brings us to the point about our mind, the mind that is only opened to things within them will be filled with judgement for things that are not within it sphere.

If you are the type that is never opened to learning about others, their culture, what their challenges may be and you just know about yourself, your culture, your environment. It will be easy for you to judge others who have no relation or nothing in common with those things that you deem important in your life.

Some believers even see other believers as threats, they rain 🌧️ judgement on them either because the way they dress, the way they worship, their level of faith some will even say that person's level of spirituality is too low, is too high, is not top notch.

God has not made you a judge over anyone either about their physical or spiritual life. God has not made you or myself a judge take note of that please.

How do we show the love of Christ if judgement fills our heart above love?

How do we even extend our territory and faith if our mind is filled with judgement.

Remember everyone carry a fair share of life challenges, before you kill anyone with your looks words, gossips and thought of them think about what Jesus would do in that situation.

Heaven will be an interesting and everlasting place to be. You know why? That brother or sister you have placed a label of judgement on might end up being your neighbour in heaven. Everyone will know each other yes! check the record of Lazarus and the rich man.

If your goal is to make heaven and take others with you, you will get rid of judgement that rules over your mind.

I believe this message is for all of us. We cannot live to imitate Christ if we live a life that judge others, we have preconceived opinion of them even if they kill themselves to please us we will still say they didn't die properly.

I pray God will minister to us beyond this words and we will have a personal encounter in Jesus name amen.

*Lets us pray*

Lord thank you for your word, that  gives life always

Father forgive me in anyway I have allowed judgement to fill my mind and rule above your love in me

Lord pudge me of any preconceived opinion of others that is detrimental to them or myself and the body of Christ

Father henceforth let me show the love of Christ to people no matter their race, status, belief, financial capability or religious belief or denomination

Lord renew my mind, fill me with the fruit of the spirit help me to overcome the desires and rulership of flesh in Jesus name

*Personal Prayer*

Thank you abba father for answered prayers in Jesus mighty name amen
