Psalms 29:1-5 AMP
[1] Ascribe to the Lord, O sons of the mighty, Ascribe to the Lord glory and strength. [2] Ascribe to the Lord the glory due His name; Worship the Lord in the beauty and majesty of His holiness [as the creator and source of holiness]. [3] ¶The voice of the Lord is upon the waters; The God of glory thunders; The Lord is over many waters. [4] The voice of the Lord is powerful; The voice of the Lord is full of majesty. [5] The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars; Yes, the Lord breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon.

This is a Psalm written by David', this Psalms started with encouraging the children of God to return all the glory to God and worship God in the beauty of His holiness. The Psalmist referred to God as the SOURCE OF HOLINESS. In other words no one is as holy or can ever be as holy as God. Literally thinking, a product can't be better than its source. So in as much as we try to live Holy through the help of the Holy Spirit, we can't be as Holy as God because He is the SOURCE OF HOLINESS.
However, that shouldn't encourage us to live a life that is not holy or dibble dabble into sin. The Psalmist description of the might of God is mind blowing. He says the glory of the Lord thunders, His voice is above the waters, Bible scholars have referred to this as the water that surrounded the ark in the days of Noah. Then the Psalmist says , ' the voice of the Lord breaks the cedars of Lebanon into pieces.' Research shows that cedars of Lebanon are slow growing trees. However, they can last up to 1000 years, now imagine just by the voice of God they can be shattered not even by the hand of God but the VOICE of God. The weight carried by the Voice of God can penetrate into anything and if it's not of God, they will turn to dust. How great and mighty is the Lord our God, Hallelujah!

[6] He makes Lebanon skip like a calf, And Sirion (Mount Hermon) like a young, wild ox. [7] The voice of the Lord rakes flames of fire (lightning). [8] The voice of the Lord shakes the wilderness; The Lord shakes the wilderness of Kadesh. [9] The voice of the Lord makes the doe labor and give birth And strips the forests bare; And in His temple all are saying, “Glory!” [10] ¶The Lord sat as King at the flood; Yes, the Lord sits as King forever. [11] The Lord will give [unyielding and impenetrable] strength to His people; The Lord will bless His people with peace.
Psalms 29:6-11
Continues to emphasize on the VOICE of the Lord. The voice of a person enables the listeners to distinctively understand them, at times the voice of a person can give the listener a clue of the personality of that person. Here the Psalmist is telling us how powerful the voice of God is. It makes me wonder, when God speaks to His beloved children, it's love, mercy, favour, chastisement in love. However, when He speaks to His enemies or entities laying accusation or charges against His children it is wrath, judgement and destruction especially when they refuse to repent.
The question to you as a believer is, what part of the voice of God do you want to encounter? Remember the same voice can bring flames of fire 🔥 and also cause peace over storms. The Psalmist ended with the fact that God will give peace and strength to His people. My prayer is that we will partake of the peace not the wrath of God in Jesus name amen.

Psalms 30:1-6 AMP
[1] I will extol and praise You, O Lord, for You have lifted me up, And have not let my enemies rejoice over me. [2] O Lord my God, I cried to You for help, and You have healed me. [3] O Lord, You have brought my life up from Sheol (the nether world, the place of the dead); You have kept me alive, so that I would not go down to the pit (grave). [4] Sing to the Lord, O you His godly ones, And give thanks at the mention of His holy name. [5] For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may endure for a night, But a shout of joy comes in the morning. [2 Cor 4:17] [6] ¶As for me, in my prosperity I said, “I shall never be moved.”
Psalms 30:1-6
This is a Psalms of David, it's a Psalms of thanksgiving for deliverance from death. Reading this chapters, you can feel and imagine the level of appreciation David was pouring out here. Deliverance from the enemies, deliverance from Sheol which some interprete as the abode of death a place of darkness and doom, deliverance from the pit which is also understood as grave. He thanked God for His grace upon him although acknowledging that the period of weeping may be seen or observed but his hope is that joy will come in the morning. This verses, unraveled the deep thought in me as a believer, will I still trust God when there is darkness and doom like David described. Will you as a believer still confidently say, well weeping may endure for the night but joy is coming in the morning. Where is your hope when things aren't going as you planned or wish, where is your trust when it feels like heaven is shut against you, where is your hope when those you fought for decides to rise against you. Will your hope still be in the almighty God unwavering?
2 Corinthians 4:17 AMP
[17] For our momentary, light distress [this passing trouble] is producing for us an eternal weight of glory [a fullness] beyond all measure [surpassing all comparisons, a transcendent splendor and an endless blessedness]!

[6] ¶As for me, in my prosperity I said, “I shall never be moved.” [7] By Your favor and grace, O Lord, you have made my mountain stand strong; You hid Your face, and I was horrified. [8] I called to You, O Lord, And to the Lord I made supplication (specific request). [9] “What profit is there in my blood (death), if I go down to the pit (grave)? Will the dust praise You? Will it declare Your faithfulness [to man]? [10] ¶“Hear, O Lord, be gracious and show favor to me; O Lord, be my helper.” [11] You have turned my mourning into dancing for me; You have taken off my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, [12] That my soul may sing praise to You and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks to You forever.
Again David keeps showing us that He is nothing without God. The later part of Psalms 30, he mentioned how in his good times he didn't forget God. When he felt he couldn't hear from God he panicked and ran back to God asking God, what use am I when I am dead and gone. Will the dead praise you, yet, he asked that God should be gracious and be merciful to him. God turned his mourning into dancing. I can imagine this might have been his position when the first child him and Bathsheba had died after they fasted and prayed and when the child died David went back to normal praising God. God later blessed them with Solomon 2 Samuels 12:1-25. David mentioned that God turned his mourning into dancing. However it is important to note that during that period of mourning David did not renounce God. He didn't give up worshipping God. He didn't throw in the towel over his service to God. To what extent would you wait as a believer on God before you say enough, God you are not faithful. God is forever faithful to us.
Don't give up on God, continue to trust Him and glorify Him even when the going gets though, God will always be God.
