Bible Study from Revelation chapter 11 to 12

Revelation 11:1-6 Two witnesses

As John continued in this encounter of the things to come, in the beginning of this chapter he was given a measuring rod and was requested to rise and measure the temple of God, the altar and those who worship there. He was to leave out the court outside the temple has it belongs to the Gentiles, who were to tread the holy city underfoot for two months. God told John that He(God) will give power to his two witnesses to prophesy for one thousand two hundred and sixty days (42 months) clothed in sackcloth. The reference of this new city and new temple can also be found in the book of Ezekiel 40: 1-3.

These two witnesses are also described as the lamp stand and the olive trees. And in verse 6 of this chapter it's written that they are indestructible, anyone or power that tries to destroy them will perish.

Revelation 11:6 AMPC
[6] These [two witnesses] have power to shut up the sky, so that no rain may fall during the days of their prophesying (their prediction of events relating to Christ's kingdom and its speedy triumph); and they also have power to turn the waters into blood and to smite and scourge the earth with all manner of plagues as often as they choose. [Exod. 7:17, 19; I Kings 17:1.]

With further reading, the answer to the true meaning of the Olive tree and Lamp stand can be found in the book of Zechariah 4:1-4, 11-14. These verses explained that the olive tree and Lamp stand are the two anointed ones who stand beside the Lord of the whole earth. No wonder they are indestructible because they carry indestructible ability and power of God in them.

Revelation 11:7-13 the witnesses killed
After the testimonies of the prophets, the beast ascended from the bottomless pit and started war against the prophets, he overcame them and they were killed, with their bodies laid in the city, people will see their lifeless bodies for three and a half days, they will not be put in the grave. People will rejoice at their death because their prophecy tormented the people of the earth.

I learned from the part that people like to live in lie and deception and truth is not always celebrated. This is currently the state of the world we live in where what God frowns against is loved by the masses.

Revelation 11: 11-14 witnesses resurrected
After three and a half day the breath of life of God entered these two prophets, they stood on their feet and those who saw them were filled with fear. Then a sound came from heaven saying come up here just like the dry bones in Ezekiel 37:5 and they rose up. Right in front of their enemies they ascended to heaven similar to what happens to Elijah in 2 Kings 2:11 when the chariots of fire conveyed him to heaven. There is a huge lesson here, God always have the last laugh and last say. Before men it might seem like it's over it's finished but the Alpha and omega knows the end no else does.

Revelation 11:15-19 The Kingdom proclaimed
In this remaining portion of the chapter the angel raised a loud sound stating that the kingdom of this world has become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ and He shall reign forever. As this happened the twenty and four elders who sat before God fell and worshipped God. They exclaimed of how the earthen raged but God was victorious over them all. The heaven opened and there were flashes and thundering. From this chapter, I affirm the majesty of God over all entities and creations. It doesn't matter what the enemy of the souls of mankind is doing now the Lord's will shall stand and last forever. However, for those who don't know this God they will perish with the beast. I pray that God will help us to hold firm and stand firm in His will forever in Jesus name amen.

Revelation 12:1-6 the woman, the child, and the dragon
This chapter started with a woman clothed with sun and the moon at her feet coupled with twelve stars on her head, she was in labour to deliver a child. In that process a dragon appeared waiting to devour the child of the woman when the male child was delivered  who will rule the nations with a rod of lion, the child was caught up by God to the throne of God and the woman fled to the wilderness. It worth knowing that the dragon represents satan.

Revelation 12:7-12  Satan was thrown out of heaven
After the incident, war broke out in heaven between the dragon and the angels. Then satan was casted out of heaven to the earth including his angels. After this a voice rang through heaven saying salvation and strength, and the kingdom of our God and the power of his Christ have come for the accuser of brethren who accused them before our God day and night has been cast down. We overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony and they didn't love their lives to the death. Therefore rejoice because the devil has been cast out.

This is something we should note as believers devil has no more place in heaven he dwells on the earth and will continue to wreck havoc on the unknown souls who are yet to receive Christ. But as  for those who have received Christ we are already victorious we just need to accept that. Don't wallow away in sin.

Revelation 12:13-17 The woman persecuted
After the dragon was casted out, he aimed to persecute the woman however the woman was given two wings to fly into the wilderness. Then the dragon came again in form of a serpent spewing something in the water to cause a flood to carry the woman away, but the earth opened up and swallowed the flood, the dragon was enraged so he went about making war for the offspring of the women who kept God's commandment and have the testimony of Christ. Who is this referring to, the believers, devil will keep coming from all corners for believers because we are witnesses that believe in Jesus so he won't stop and that's why we must not relent either. The devil is relentless so you must not play with your salvation or walk with Christ. This scriptures will manifest nothing will return to God void. It is important to stand firm in Christ let your faith in Him grow daily. May the Lord keep us in Him forever in Jesus name amen
