Lessons from Esther Chapter 7 to 10

Esther 7

This chapter started with Queen Esther and the King going to banquet alongside Haman. On the second day of this banquet, the Queen made a request from the King and he promised to honour whatever request she made. She went ahead to tender her request explaining how her people the Jewish were taken slave both young and old and decree was made against them. In short she was requesting for the emancipation of her people.

Unbeknownst to Haman he thought he was so honoured to be invited to join the King and Queen not knowing that his cup was full and judgement was about to be given against him.

Queen Esther went ahead to explain what Haman did. The King was furious on hearing the evil deeds of Haman and immediately Haman's head was covered and instructions went from the King to hang Haman on the gallow he dug for Mordecai and the Jews.

The Lesson in this chapter is a lot but one significant one is never plot evil against whom God favoured. Don't misuse your power or authority may God help us all in Jesus name amen.

Esther 8

The King went ahead to give the house of Haman who plotted against the Jews to Esther. Wait a minute! What the enemy meant for evil God simply turning around for good using the King.

It's vital to watch out and never plot evil against anyone let alone the children of God because it often backfires.

Esther went ahead to plead to the King on behalf of her people. There is something that's repetitive or persisting in the actions of Queen Esther. Each time she wants to make a request she falls before the King, this was a slave girl honoured by God and the favour she got she kept utilizing it not to weaponize evil but to liberate her people. She became the spokeswoman for them where their voices couldn't be heard.

When God place you in a position don't override the voiceless, don't allow the position to obscure your purpose or vision, you are there because God placed you there and in each position there might be an assignment He has for you. But you must be willing to allow Him use you in that position.

The King honoured the request of Queen Esther her people were liberated this led to the celebrations they observed in the month of Adar (according to theologians is roughly between February and March).

Another significant thing happened at the end of this chapter, when the people realized how powerful the Jews had beccome some of this people converted and became Jews.

Esther 8:17 NKJV
[17] And in every province and city, wherever the king’s command and decree came, the Jews had joy and gladness, a feast and a holiday. Then many of the people of the land became Jews, because fear of the Jews fell upon them.

The action of a person who was backed up by God and her people that were praying and fasting for divine intervention led to the conversion of others who genetically weren't even from where they were from.  Our actions can either make or mar destinies.

What actions are you taking in that position God placed you?

Esther 9

The Jews had become so powerful. Mordecai had become powerful as their leader and the Jews went for their enemies, they destroyed all that belong to their enemy including the ten sons of Haman.

Haman was the one that sinned but his generation paid for it. Often times situations like this occur not just in the Bible even in the current age we live. Inherited sins, what you know nothing about that is playing catch-up with your purpose and destiny.

I pray in the name of Jesus that every evil catch-up against the will of God over our destinies are destroyed in Jesus name.

In all the destruction, the revenge and retaliations of the Jews, the King gave them his word and support because his wife Queen Esther was pleading on behalf of her people.

You see the union called marriage, when married people work together they can bring anything down. This same King who was once married to Vashti is now just giving decrees to support his new wife.

Esther didn't back down until the evil decree Haman wrote was totally cancelled.

Esther 10

King Ahasuerus placed a decree on the land which prompted Mordecai to the position of second in command to the King. Making him such a great man and it was documented that He used the position to favour his people.

The story in the book of Esther can be sum into grass to grace, how the mighty fall, don't be intoxicated by wine that you end up making decisions that can truncate another's purpose and don't plot against others. Above all it keeps pointing us back to the almighty God being the all knowing and having the power to undo the decree of the wicked and when God makes a decree nothing and no one can overturn it.
