Bible study from Revelation 21 to 22

Revelation 21:1-8 The New Heaven and Earth

Following on from the previous chapter that informed us about the judgement and how it will take place. This chapter, started with John being shown a new heaven and new earth. Because the previous one will vanish, there will be no more sea, correspondence can be found in Isaiah 65:17, Isaiah 66:22

Isaiah 66:22 NKJV

[22] “For as the new heavens and the new earth Which I will make shall remain before Me,” says the Lord, “So shall your descendants and your name remain.

The Holy city and new Jerusalem will come down to the earth from heaven there is a reference to this in John 14:2 where Jesus talked about the many mansion in His father's house and He has gone to prepare a place for us. A loud voice from the throne said TheTabernacle of God is among men and He will live among them and they will be with them as their God.  There is a reference to this in Leveticus  26:11-12 where the Lord promised the children of Israel how He will walk among them. There will be no tear or sorrow, all the former has passed away. Christ who sits on the throne make all things new. This verses echoes what was said to John 'it is done, I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the end. To the one who thirsts I will give water from the fountain of the water of life without cost.

The scripture further explained that those who did abominable things and never believed God the idolaters, occultists, murderers, sorcerers and those who practice false doctrine and false prophets to mention a few will burn in the lake of fire.

Revelation 21:9-21 The new Jerusalem

This part of the chapter describes the new Jerusalem. Seven angels appeared to John they had seven bowls filled with seven final plagues and they spoke with John. He was carried in the spirit to a vast lofty mountain that was the Holy and sacrificed city of Jerusalem from heaven filled with the radiant light which depicts the glory of God.The description of the new Jerusalem was so beautiful with the foundation set on Christ and the walls fortified by twelve foundation stones with the names of the twelve apostles of Jesus. 

The angel that spoke to John had a gold measuring rod to measure the city gates and the walls, the walls were built with beautiful jasper stones, sapphire, chalcedony, emerald, sardonyx, Sardius, chrysolite, beryl, topaz, chrysoprase, jacinth and amethyst  were the description of the beauty and expensive the city will be.

Reading this alone with comparison to the bottomless pit where those who don't make heaven will end. I don't believe anyone in their right mind will swap this for the pleasures that doesn't last eternally but makes the soul perish in a bottomless pit of fire. I pray that I will not be part of the statistics of hell in Jesus name amen.

Revelation 21:22-27

This part of the chapter John saw no temple for God almighty , the city had no sun or moon to give it light because the light and glory of God illuminated it. The redeemed people will dwell there, only those whose name are found in the book of life shall be there as recorded in Daniel 12:1.

Revelation 22:1-5 The perfect life 

The angel showed John a river of water clear as crystal flowing from throne of God to Christ on the sides was tree of life with twelve types of fruit every month, the leaves healed nations. This refers back to the garden of Eden Genesis 2:9. Nothing that is cursed will exist there only the throne of God will be there, there will be no night or day and they will reign forever and ever 

Revelation 22:6-15 You are invited to be blessed

The angel told John that God sent his representative to show His bond-servants the things that must take place. Verse 7 says 'And behold, I am coming quickly, Blessed is the one who needs and takes heart and remembers the words of the prophecy contained in this book.'

After hearing all this John fell down to worship the angel but the angel rebuked John that he is a fellow servant that on God almighty must be worshipped. The angel further said let those who do wrong continue and those who do right continue. Verse 12-13 re-echoed what was written in verse 7 'Behold, I (Jesus) am coming quickly and My reward is with Me, to give to each one according to the merit of his deeds on earth, I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.'

Reading this scripture draws me closer to my decision to serve God forever and live for Jesus all the days of my life. Nothing in this world or the world after outside God almighty is worth losing heaven or missing out from having your name written in the book of life.

Revelation 22:16-21 The Final invitation

Jesus is the root, the source and life of the church, the Holy spirit and the church the believers are part of Him. Only in Christ can you drink the water of life at no cost. Whoever hears this prophecy must obey, you must not add to it if you do the consequences is plague from Deuteronomy 4:2 this also applies to anyone who takes away or distorts the words of the book of this prophecy. The chapter ended with the grace of Lord Jesus Christ to be with all believers and those who are set apart for God.

In a nutshell the book of revelation is not a book you mustn't read and study if you truly want to live for God and most especially make heaven. It speaks of the past the present and the future in the way God wants us all to be aware of it. I pray the Lord will guide us all to the very end in Jesus name amen.

Bible Study from Revelations 17 to 18

Revelation 17:1-6 The doom of Babylon

Following the events from the previous chapters, an angel approached, asking him to come so he can be shown the judgement and doom of Babylon the prostitute sorted over many watees influencing nations. She is known as the scarlet woman and the scarlet beast. A reference was made to this entity in Jeremiah 51:13, the driving force of intoxication and all forms of immoralities. He was then taken into the wilderness where He saw the woman seating on the scarlet beast with blasphemous inscriptions all over the beast on her fore head was written Revelation 17:5 AMP

[5] And on her forehead a name was written, a mystery: “BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF PROSTITUTES (false religions, heresies) AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.” 

This evil woman was drunk with the blood of martyrs, this led to John wondering but the angel reassured him that he will explain to him. 

What I learned from this part of the scripture as it's known to some believers is, behind every evil act there is a spirit, the funny part is this spirit controls anyone who is their subject also this spirit is behind the killings and persecutions of believers who do not renounce their faith in Christ.

Revelation 17: 7-16

The angel explained to John that the scarlet beast was once in the abbyss the bottomless pit which is the dwelling of demons. However it's released to torment those who's names are not in the book of life. This beast is in existence already and will be released on the earth. The seven heads of the beast represented the seven hills the woman takes territory over. They represent seven kings, five had fallen, one is existing and the last one is yet to come. The horns on the beast will wage war against the saint until the Ancient of days come to judge the beast.

Revelation 17:17-18

This part of the scripture describes the victory, the horns will turn against the scarlet prostitute and make her naked by stripping her of her power. The people of the earth where the scarlet had dominion will turn against the prostitute because God put in their heart to unite and surrender to the beast until the prophetic word of God is fulfilled. These scarlet prostitute controls leaders and kings of nations of the earth. 

Some might wonder why some leader change after getting into power, this scripture highlights who controls the leaders of nations and kings especially if they are not saved or live in the will of God and accepted Jesus as their lord and saviour. They directly or indirectly dances to the tune of Satan and all this is to bring to fulfillment what is documented in the scripture.

Revelation 18:1-8 Described as Babylon is fallen

Another angel appeared from heaven filled with lights and illumination, saying Babylon is fallen, Babylon fell due to drunkenness, immorality, cup of fury, political leaders commuting immoralities and merchant amassing wealth, and power for sensory luxury. I learned from this part that you can be a merchant indirectly not realising you are when all you do is just to feel good even if it's against the will of God. You are used as a tool, amassing wealth to meet a status quo.

Then the word from heaven spoke and said come out of her so you won't be corrupted by her by partnering in her sin and facing the wrath of God. Her torment will be shared by those who stayed in her, because she is filled with pride stating, she will never see grief and mourning. Due to this claim, pestilence, mourning and famine will visit her because the Lord will judge her.

From this part I learned the importance of standing in and with God to the end. Deviating into the status quo of this earth can lead to eternal separation and damnation. Does this mean we have to live in pain sadness and penury as a believer not exactly but ensure you follow the leading of God even when it seems meaningless.

Revelation 18:9-20 lament of Babylon

The kings and leaders who enjoyed the goodies of this scarlet prostitute will mourn, they will be terrified by the harm and judgement that will befall them.  All that they invested in none will buy it from them, it will become utterly useless. They will mourn, all they gather will burn down because God will seek the vengeance of the righteous on them.

At this point I want to pray.

Lord help me to stand firm in you, help me to trust you even when the persecution becomes unbearable, help me to trust that to live for you and die for you is gain because in you I live and move my being in Jesus name amen.

Revelation 18: 21-24 The divine sentence on Babylon

An angel flung a big stone into the sea and in doing so indicated that this is how Babylon will be brought to an end. The judgement of God will be upon her and it will never be found again. None of the inhabitant will exist again, they will never be heard again. They will perish. This is because Babylon was found on the blood of those who believed in God and God will take vengeance for their sake.

Lord I ask for your help, I pray that in this journey of faith that I will not be enticed by the rulers and entities that represents Babylon in Jesus name amen.

Please find time to study the book of revelation personally and pray that the Holy spirit will minister to you in Jesus name amen

Ancient of days thank you for this awesome new dawn and grace of life

Eternal rock of ages thank you for the forgiveness of sin and your blood shed on Calvary for my salvation 

Lord thank you for the clarity I gain daily through your word you deserve the worship

Lord purify my heart to the state that my heart obeys you at all times 

Lord lead me and remove every evil and corrupt leadership far from me

Lord help me to live my life for you in humility and fear of who you truly are
