*Topic:* Weakness of Sin

“And it came to pass, after the year was expired, at the time when kings go forth to battle, that David sent Joab, and his servants with him, and all Israel; and they destroyed the children of Ammon, and besieged Rabbah. But David tarried still at Jerusalem.  And it came to pass in an eveningtide, that David arose from off his bed, and walked upon the roof of the king's house: and from the roof he saw a woman washing herself; and the woman was very beautiful to look upon.  And David sent and enquired after the woman. And one said, Is not this Bath–sheba, the daughter of Eliam, the wife of Uriah the Hittite?  And David sent messengers, and took her; and she came in unto him, and he lay with her; for she was purified from her uncleanness: and she returned unto her house.  And the woman conceived, and sent and told David, and said, I am with child.  And David sent to Joab, saying, Send me Uriah the Hittite. And Joab sent Uriah to David.  And when Uriah was come unto him, David demanded of him how Joab did, and how the people did, and how the war prospered.  And David said to Uriah, Go down to thy house, and wash thy feet. And Uriah departed out of the king's house, and there followed him a mess of meat from the king.  But Uriah slept at the door of the king's house with all the servants of his Lord, and went not down to his house.  And when they had told David, saying, Uriah went not down unto his house, David said unto Uriah, Camest thou not from thy journey? why then didst thou not go down unto thine house?  And Uriah said unto David, The ark, and Israel, and Judah, abide in tents; and my Lord Joab, and the servants of my Lord, are encamped in the open fields; shall I then go into mine house, to eat and to drink, and to lie with my wife? as thou livest, and as thy soul liveth, I will not do this thing.  And David said to Uriah, Tarry here to day also, and to morrow I will let thee depart. So Uriah abode in Jerusalem that day, and the morrow.  And when David had called him, he did eat and drink before him; and he made him drunk: and at even he went out to lie on his bed with the servants of his Lord, but went not down to his house.  And it came to pass in the morning, that David wrote a letter to Joab, and sent it by the hand of Uriah.  And he wrote in the letter, saying, Set ye Uriah in the forefront of the hottest battle, and retire ye from him, that he may be smitten, and die.  And it came to pass, when Joab observed the city, that he assigned Uriah unto a place where he knew that valiant men were.  And the men of the city went out, and fought with Joab: and there fell some of the people of the servants of David; and Uriah the Hittite died also.  Then Joab sent and told David all the things concerning the war;” 2 Samuel 11:1-18 KJV

May the Holy Spirit speak to us and enlighten us through the studying of His word in Jesus name, Lord we thank you for the privilege to be alive to see this beautiful moment. We pray that you take charge of our meeting and discussions tonight. Speak to our hearts and help to take actions that are aligned with your will for us. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
We all understand what Sin means..

I remember as a child when we did anything wrong my mother will tell us to close our eyes and she will say what can you see. If you say darkness she will then say that is t
What happens to sinners.

This was a strategy to get us to say the truth always.

Sin as we know is anything that is immoral or against the perception or direction of divinity. Weakness is a state or condition of being weak, being frail or delicate.
If you meet someone who is frail even to lift their own hands can appear very difficult because the strength isn’t enough
We need to understand that weakness of sin can is being frail to immoral thing
That is the resistance isn't enough because when you are in sin. *It eventually becomes your Lord.Having said that we must understand that sin will always be in this world the only place you can't find sin is in *Heaven*
But thank God for Jesus and the Holy spirit, grace is available for us to overcome Hallelujah
Now let us look into the Scriptures
2Samuel 11:1-18 We all know who David was..

The young man who killed the giant goliath with stone and strong believe in the God of Israel
From being a shepherd boy he became a champion against a one man made terrorist *(goliath)*
Then he became an instrumentalist for King Saul
We understand when the soul of Saul was troubled and David played there was calmness
David started from being that Child who watches his father’s sheep πŸ‘in the field to becoming The King. His case was actually from grass to grace, Imagine he was set aside and anointed out of the children of Jesse.

Some Bible scholar said He was probably an unwanted child. A child birth by a concubine
How amazing, David became the king, his kingdom was vast massive and He was not even a lazy king. This day in 2 Samuel 11 the armies had gone to battle as the king he ought to have led them. But he took a break he stood in to give orders on the strategies to conquer their enemies. Remember He was a man after God's heart. He loved to praise God according to Psalms 119:164. He praised God 7 times in a day. But this day David after relaxing took a stroll on the roof top. In fact he lived in a palace that was a state of artπŸ•Œ He was strolling then He saw something a. Woman🚺 having a bathe πŸšΏπŸ›€πŸΌ. The woman was beautiful and he sent his servant to find out who he was. He got a message that she was. Bath-sheba the daughter of Eliam the wife of Uriah the Hittite..

This did not keep David from going after her even though he found out she was married he still asked that she be brought to him. when sin wants to get a man it comes in an enticing manner. It creeps in slowly like the snake  πŸ in the garden of Eden
It doesn't look harmful or horrible infact sin creeps in when we are at our most complacent and comfortable state. It comes when we have let our guards down either due to over confidence, complacency, evil corruption e.t.c. David had become complacent in his comfort zone of sending orders and giving authorities. The Bible says. In Proverbs 16:27-29 how and idle hands is a useful tool for the devil. I pray we will not be a useful tool in the hand of the enemy. After sleeping with Bath-sheba. She notified him she had conceived, David had become comfortable in sin. When Urriah came back from war David tried to get him to go home and sleep with his wife but due to Urriah's loyalty as a soldier he slept in the palace. That is why the word of God admonish us to Be sober and Be vigilant. The adversary  is always waiting  for  an  opportunity to  strike. We must always  be  on gird.
David thought how can he safe himself from this embarrassment, Then He made the final call to get Urriah killed by purring Him where the war was fierce. He succeeded in his plan and the soldiers he sent couldn't save Urriah they had to *obey the last order* which was from the king.

I pray that every plan to get rid of any of us God will expose it even before it's accomplished in Jesus name.
The spouse that will lead to our untimely death may we never have anything to do with them in Jesus name.
I pray the act or thought that makes husband or wife knowingly or unknowingly execute their spouse will not fall on any of us here in Jesus name.

One thing you should know about sin is no one is infallible *Except God*. As long as you are still working in the body suit of flesh if not for God's grace you can fall. That is why you should not judge others. David committed the sin of Adultery and covered it with the Sin of murder. You might say but he didn’t kill Uriah himself but he planned it
He literally orchestrated the killing and death of his employee.

I decree that the employment that will lead to your demise may you not take it in Jesus name.

I decree that everything that will make your employer become your assassinator directly or indirectly God will not allow it in Jesus name.

Sin is very enticing when engaging in it. As human we justify our act so quickly and what the enemy of our soul does is to always give us reasons to keep falling

*The way of sin is a downward pull but the way of righteousness is an upward soar*
God is ever merciful to us and if *He should count our sin no one including me will not be able to stand*
One thing we must be conscious of is the conviction of the Holy Spirit
When the Holy Spirit convicts us and we adjust our ways it helps us to live in righteousness
May God continue to see us through, Anything can be our weakness
From stealing to
Fornication
Lying
Hatred
Enviness
Lack of love for others
Organised fraud
Backbiting
Deception
Cheating
Anger
The list is endless but Grace speaks for us

Oh David, He wanted to cover his trap so well by killing Urriah but God sent Nathan to Him. But looking at weakness of sin. If it is not dealt with it will deal with you

It is ideal we identify our weakness and always tell it to God

Why I said tell God your weakness is because He is the only bone that can give us the needed and befitting strength

If we tell human being our sin at times it even gets worse as they might mock you or judge you but God is a loving judge
He will never let us suffer double jeopardy
 He helps us overcome
We need to understand that we can communicate with God anytime because *He is the friend that is closer to us than our flesh*
I pray that God will help us to live above sin
*I decree upon my life that sin shall not have dominion over my body soul and spirit in Jesus name* May we not end up where God doesn't want us in Jesus name
God will help us to come out of our comfort zone and put away idleness in Jesus name.
He will uphold us by His power in Jesus name. We will stand tall in Jesus name

Say *Father help me get over a d above all my weakness and to deal with it/them before my weakness deal with me in Jesus name*

Lord we thank you for this evening Holy Spirit we pray that you help us all in every area we are weak in Jesus name
Help us to live above sin and grant us grace to stand in your will.
Lord do not let us abuse the grace available for us in Jesus name

Thank you Jesus for answered prayers in Jesus name….. Sis Leah

Note: Joseph had a better understanding  and knowledge about (Fornication/Adultery) as a teenager. Which king David learnt in a hard and costly way even as a king over God's  own people.

David was a warrior, he was supposed to be in battle.... By taking a break David was not where he was supposed to be. When we are not where we have been assigned by God we become prone to sin.

SOS 2:15. The little foxes that destroys  our vine.

I pray that the little foxes that destroy the vine in us God will give us strength to overcome them. He wanted Uriah to go and lay with his wife so he would think The pregnancy was his. But Uriah didn't go home because of his faithfulness.
Self-control and Self Discipline.

Food for  thought :
What kind of  thought runs through our mind. What  kind of  websites  do we visit when we are all by yourself. …Bro Deji

Sin Diminishes us. It gives the devil an advantage over us… Bro Tobi

A Christian who gives in to sin is settling for less. If Joseph had given in to Potiphar’s wife’s advances, the best he could have been would be head of the servants and perhaps some special privileges, he would never have been Prime Minister. Let’s pray not to settle for less through sinful habits…. Bro Tokun

True; Christ lived among us he understands what we’re going through it’s not a reason to sin but we can tell Him all things. The devil only tempts people with a very bright future ahead; so that he can stop you.… Sis Chinazam
