Lord thank you for the gift of your wonderful power at work in and around me

Lord thank you for the spiritual gift you have endowed me with

Bible Study from Habbakuk 3

Habbakuk 3:1-3 The prophets prayer

 The first 3 verses of this chapter, Prophet Habbakuk was praying to God acknowledging that he's heard God's speech and he was afraid, he prayed that God revived his work in the midst of the years, he asked for God's mercy. These verses reminds us that even as vessels of God we might have questions just as Habbakuk did in the first two chapters and God will answer us but we still have a duty of care to a certain degree. Our duty of care in some cases could be delivering difficult unbelievable messages or prophecies and in some cases it could be praying for mercy of God in the place of intervention for people who might never know us.

Habbakuk 3:4-8

In these verses prophet Habbakuk was describing the glory of God how it covers the heaven and a description of the galaxies and the power of God. How everything good or bad that happens God sees. He also questioned if God was displeased with the rivers that, His wrath on the sea. I see this as a level of relationship and acknowledgement of seeking to know more of God and more about what God does. As a child of God it is essential that we know that nothing happens without the permission from God. Looking at the world today, some of the occurrences, the disasters could have been worse but God reveals them ahead of time to His chosen vessel who stand in gap. At times some have gone beyond what just prayers can avert but requires repentance and acknowledgement of the supremacy of God. When that's ignored we see constant destruction and disasters in areas that never had it before. I pray that God will give us the grace to acknowledge His supremacy and obey Him in Jesus name amen.

Habbakuk 3:10-13

The prophet continues to describe the things that God had done. How the light of God's arrows the sun and moon stood at their habitation, how God matches through the land and trample the nations in anger, how He saved His own people and the anointed ones but struck the head from the house of the wicked. As explain earlier some things can only be stopped through total repentance, acknowledgement of God and obedience to Him.

Habbakuk 3:14-16

This part of the verse he spoke of how God deals with the head of villages which we can compare to head of nations in our current days as they feast on the poor in secret. Again nothing is hidden from God, from the highest powers and authorities to the lowest God id aware of everyone's move.

Habbakuk 3:17-19 described as a hymn of faith

Here is a description of a fig tree not blossoming, nor the vine having fruit. It describes the failure of the labour of olives, yet the prophet says he will rejoice in the Lord because the Lord is his strength. He will make my feet like deer's feet and make me walk on my high heals. I researched the significance of a deer's feet and my understanding is that a deer's feet symbolises agility and stability in difficult times. Reading this scripture further buttresses the fact that life might not be smooth sailing and your walk with God might encounter some hurdles but you have to keep going and keep your faith in Him even when the world throws it in your face that God is wicked due to the occurrences either in your life or in the world at large.

May the Lord guide us and help us build our faith stronger in Him daily in Jesus name.
