Prayer from Psalms 24:10

Song by Israel & the New Breed

Who is like You Lord in all the earth?
Matchless love and beauty, endless worth
Nothing in this world can satisfy
'Cause Jesus You're the cup that won't run dry

Your presence is heaven to me
Oh God, Your presence is heaven to me

You are the treasure of my heart
Treasure of my heart and of my soul
In my weakness you are merciful
Redeemer of my past and present wrongs
Holder of my future days to come

So we sing
Oh Jesus, oh Jesus
Your presence is heaven to me
Oh Jesus, oh Jesus
Your presence is heaven to me

[10] Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah.

Bible Study reflections from 1 Samuel 17 to 18

This chapter recounts the well-known story of how David defeated Goliath. It begins with the Philistines gathering their army, while the Israelites, led by Saul, also assembled for battle. A valley lay between them Israel on one side, the Philistines on the other.

It is important to note that whenever there is conflict whether in physical battles or personal disagreements there is always a line of separation, a clear boundary. Spiritually, this is also true. One cannot stand with God and remain indistinct from those who oppose Him.

There must be a clear demarcation. You cannot dwell in the mud with swine and still expect to remain clean and set apart.

In verse 4, Goliath is introduced as the champion of the Philistines from Gath. His background shows a lineage of Orpah. He was physically imposing, experienced in battle, and carried an intimidating presence. Everything about him inspired fear, his height, his armour, and the reputation that followed him. Yet, despite all this, he lacked the backing of the Most High God.

For forty days, he issued threats and challenges to Israel, daring anyone to face him. Even Saul, the king, was gripped with fear. Not a single trained soldier was bold enough to confront this giant.

By verse 17, we are introduced to David again. His father, Jesse, sent him to deliver food to his brothers at the battlefield. Upon arrival, David quickly left the supplies and ran to the camp, where he witnessed the fear that had gripped the Israelite army. As Goliath came out again with his usual defiance, David asked what reward would be given to the one who defeated this “uncircumcised Philistine” and removed this disgrace from Israel. He was told of the reward.

His brother Eliab rebuked him, accusing him of being naughty and questioning his presence at the battlefield. But the truth remains: some battles cannot be avoided, they must be faced. More importantly, they must be faced with God’s guidance and involvement.

From verses 31 to 40, David made himself available, expressing his willingness to fight Goliath. He was brought before Saul. One might wonder why Saul, a king, would entrust such a task to a young boy, and even more, why he would offer him heavy armour while he himself remained afraid.

When Saul gave David his armour, David refused it, saying he had not tested it. This teaches a powerful lesson: do not abandon what God has already equipped you with in pursuit of something that appears more sophisticated. When you have proven the power of what God has given you, especially His Word, you will not be easily swayed by alternatives that are not aligned with Him.

The chapter concludes with David defeating Goliath using a sling and a stone, and ultimately beheading him with Goliath’s own sword. The lesson here is clear: no opposition that rises against a child of God is beyond His power to overcome. Even when others seem more experienced or qualified, God is able to elevate and empower the unqualified.

This chapter focuses on the relationship between David and Jonathan. From the moment Jonathan saw David after his victory over Goliath, his soul was knit to David’s. He loved him as his own brother. Their bond went beyond friendship, it was a deep, covenant relationship.

Following the victory, David was placed over the men of war, and the people accepted him. However, the women began to sing, “Saul has slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands.” This displeased Saul greatly, and from that day, he began to harbor jealousy and resentment toward David.

This moment teaches an important lesson: not all praise leads to goodwill. In today’s world, people often elevate others in ways that unintentionally create division or provoke envy or against God. When placed in such situations, it is wise to respond with humility and discernment. While David may not have encouraged this praise, it contributed to the growing hostility from Saul, though we also know that David’s rise was already part of God’s plan.

Despite Saul’s increasing desire to harm him, David conducted himself with wisdom and integrity. This is another key lesson: after a major victory, one must remain vigilant. External success can sometimes trigger internal or relational battles. Victory is not the end, it can be the beginning of new challenges. Staying grounded in God’s grace and direction is essential.

Saul eventually gave his daughter in marriage to David, strengthening their connection as both king and father-in-law. Yet, despite the underlying tension, David continued to act wisely and succeeded in all he did.

The overarching lesson is this: the wisdom of God brings victory, even when opposition arises from unexpected or familiar places. May God grant us such wisdom, guidance, and strength in all situations in Jesus' name, Amen.

Bible study from Matthew 24:1-28

Mathew 24:1-14

In these verses, Jesus spoke to His disciples about how the temple would be completely brought down. Out of curiosity, they asked Him to tell them more about the signs of His coming and the end of the world.

Jesus began His response with a warning—to take heed, meaning they should be careful not to be deceived by anyone (Matthew 24:5 ).

I believe this warning is something we must all pay attention to, especially in these present times. The Word of God clearly tells us that many will come in His name, claiming to be Christ, and many people will be deceived (Matthew 24:5).

Even now, some disguise themselves as the Lord because they hold positions of leadership in religious settings. Many people have followed them for so long that they can no longer distinguish between truth and error. Some are so fixated on the words and actions of their religious leaders that they are no longer aligned with the Word of God. They do not stop to check whether what they are being taught is leading them away from the true God they simply follow blindly and gullibly.

I have come to a point in my life where reading Scripture is a time of reflection where I examine whether my life is still aligned with what the Word of God says, not merely the directives of men.

From verses 6 to 8 , the Lord spoke about wars and rumours of wars, nations rising against nations, and natural disasters in various places. Yet, even with all these, the end has not yet come these are only the beginning of sorrows.

In verse 9 , the Lord said that believers will be handed over to be persecuted and killed, and that Christians will be hated across nations because of their faith. This has already been happening and is still happening today. Across the world, hostility towards Christians and Christianity continues to rise.

This is not a time for believers to take their salvation or their relationship with God lightly. This is the time to examine whether you are truly in right standing with God, or if you are simply being religious. There is a clear difference between having a relationship with God and merely following religion.

From verses 10 to 14, the Lord explained that many will fall away, false prophets will rise, iniquity will increase, and the love of many for God will grow cold. But those who endure to the end will be saved, and the gospel will be preached to all nations before the end comes.

Today, some believers are turning back to traditional practices, some because of betrayal, others because they feel Christianity is a religion imposed by one race on others. Even prayer altars have grown cold; some feel that God is no longer hearing them. In many homes, God has been left at the door while people embrace whatever seems to work for them.
Worldliness is now being justified even on the altar. Scriptures are being twisted to fit human agendas. Many are following blindly. People desire an audience, but they have abandoned the Audience of One, God Almighty.

This is not the time to follow the crowd. This is the time to follow Christ, even when others think you are being extreme in your faith. Follow Jesus. Know Him personally. Know His Word.

This passage highlights the abomination of desolation, as prophesied by Daniel. It describes a time of intense tribulation, unlike anything the world has ever seen. A time of such unrest that nowhere will feel safe.

It will be a time when what you carry within you the Word of God will be what sustains you, giving you hope and assurance. It will also be a time when powers and authorities come together to rule, and people’s lives will be subjected to these systems.
During this period, false prophets and false christs will rise and thrive. Those who do not truly know God will follow them, believing they have found their saviours. These individuals will perform signs and wonders, and even true believers, if not careful, can be deceived. But the Lord has already warned us about this (Matthew 24:15–25).

We are also warned not to be misled by claims that “Jesus is here” or “He is there.” We must remain grounded in Christ, because His coming will be sudden and unmistakable (Matthew 24:26–28).
Having said all this, it should not cause anyone to give up on living for Christ.

We are living in a fast-paced world, days go by quickly, and what is unreal is often presented as real. So much is constantly being pushed at us, whether physically or through technology. Only those who are truly grounded in God can discern the times and seasons.

The bottom line is this: God loves us deeply. Stay rooted in Christ. Prepare for His coming.

Do not rely solely on what others tell you, open your Bible and study the Word of God for yourself. Grow in your personal connection with Him. Do not become too familiar or casual with God or His Word.
Do not say, “I will try my best.” Instead, allow Him to guide you as you wait on Him.

I pray that God will help us all on this journey. I pray that the Holy Spirit will guide us as we make a conscious effort to live for Him now, so that we may reign with Him eternally.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Prayer from Romans 10:17

Song by Nathaniel Bassey

You are God from beginning to the end
There's no place for argument
You are God all by yourself

[17] So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Prayer

Almighty father my redeemer and sustainer I worship your majesty and honour your holy name

Eternal rock of ages thank you for this awesome new dawn and grace to be among the living

Lord thank you for the forgiveness of sin and your blood shed for the salvation of my soul

Lord thank you for your word and the faith built in me through your word

Lord increase in me the grace to walk by faith and not by sight in Jesus name

Holy one of Israel terminate every sound that wants to consume my faith and instil fear in me

Lord protect my eyes and ears gates from the evil penetrations from the pit of hell

Lord silent every voice sent to cause fear and mockery in the lives of believers in Jesus name

Lord help me to stay focused on what you are saying, and give me understanding of times and season

Lord let your presence dominate my life to the existent that all unwanted presence will have no place in my life

Lord concerning the vessel used for this daily prayers all impacted by it and our households, keep us in your will and under the shadow of your wings all the days of our lives in Jesus name amen

*Personal Prayer*

Thank you Abba Father for answered prayers in Jesus name

*Confess Daily: Sin shall not have dominion over me, I am operating in the power of the word of God. I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus by faith, as Jesus is so am I in this world. God has the answer: Trust and obey His word

Some years ago, my work involved night duties, and there was a period when I worked almost entirely nights with very few day shifts.

At the beginning, my body really struggled to adjust. It got to the point where, on my way home, I would stop at a shop to buy pain relief. I wasn’t actually in pain, but I had discovered that it helped me fall into a deep sleep.

Then one day, I went to get it and found out it had been recalled and was no longer available. I had no choice but to allow my body to rest naturally. It’s worth mentioning that even during that time, I was a devoted Christian.

Fast forward a few years later someone I knew was struggling with sleep and reached out to me for prayer. I began searching for scriptures that affirm God gives sleep to His children. As we stood on those promises, this person began to experience restful sleep without any medication, just through active faith in God’s Word.

This memory came back to me this morning, and I felt led to share it as an encouragement: there is nothing we face that God does not already have an answer for in the Bible. If only we can trust Him, obey Him, and exercise our faith.

For so he giveth his beloved sleep.”

God is not a man that He should lie. What He has said, He will surely do. I don’t know what you may be struggling with right now, or if it feels beyond God but I want to remind you that nothing is beyond Him. He has power over everything. Just trust Him and obey.
