*Text:* 2 Kings 20:1-11, 2Kings 19:14-19
In those days [when Sennacherib first invaded Judah] Hezekiah became deathly ill. The prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz came and said to him, “Thus says the Lord, ‘Set your house in order, for you shall die and not recover.’ ” Then Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to the Lord, saying, “Please, O Lord, remember now [with compassion] how I have walked before You in faithfulness and truth and with a whole heart [entirely devoted to You], and have done what is good in Your sight.” And Hezekiah wept bitterly. Before Isaiah had gone out of the middle courtyard, the word of the Lord came to him, saying, “Go back and tell Hezekiah the leader of My people, ‘Thus says the Lord, the God of David your father (ancestor): “I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears. Behold, I am healing you; on the third day you shall go up to the house of the Lord. I will add fifteen years to your life and save you and this city [Jerusalem] from the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will protect this city for My own sake and for My servant David’s sake.” ’ ” Then Isaiah said, “Bring a cake of figs. And they brought it and placed it on the [painful] inflammation, and he recovered.” Hezekiah said to Isaiah, “What will be the sign that the Lord will [completely] heal me, and that I shall go up to the house of the Lord on the third day?” Isaiah said, “This will be the sign to you from the Lord, that He will do the thing that He has spoken: shall the shadow [indicating the time of day] go forward ten steps, or go backward ten steps?” Hezekiah answered, “It is easy for the shadow to go forward ten steps; no, but let the shadow turn backward ten steps.” So Isaiah the prophet called out to the Lord, and He brought the shadow on the steps ten steps backward by which it had gone down on the sundial of Ahaz.

Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers and read it. Then he went up to the house (temple) of the Lord and spread it out before the Lord. Hezekiah prayed before the Lord and said, “O Lord, the God of Israel, who is enthroned above the cherubim [of the ark in the temple], You are the God, You alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth. You have made the heavens and the earth. O Lord, bend down Your ear and hear; Lord, open Your eyes and see; hear the [taunting] words of Sennacherib, which he has sent to taunt and defy the living God. It is true, Lord, that the Assyrian kings have devastated the nations and their lands and have thrown their gods into the fire, for they were not [real] gods but [only] the work of men’s hands, wood and stone. So they [could destroy them and] have destroyed them. Now, O Lord our God, please, save us from his hand so that all the kingdoms of the earth may know [without any doubt] that You alone, O Lord, are God.”

Glory be to God who alone has kept us all safe in His divine protection. May we never become estranged from His divine love in Jesus mighty name.
Trusting someone can be very difficult if you have had constant disappointment or have been disadvantaged on different level.
The scripture reading this evening tells the story of Hezekiah on two different occasions.
The first occasion in chapter 19 of 2kings, he received a letter about a proposed attack by the Assyrian. Instead of strategizing with ordinary human heart or mind, he went straight to the temple the house of God to tender it before God.
He reported the matter to God asking Him to intervene.
The second occasion was when he was gravely ill, and prophet Isaiah delivered a message no one will want to hear if they still want to spend more time in this world that God said he should set his house in order.
In our present day, it will be like write your will if you have assets, pay your debt, start your goodbye. It's like sending a dying patient home on palliative care so they can sleep away in the comfort of their home.
Hezekiah on the other hand tender it before God. He wept and ask for more time and God intervened and increased his years. One pattern here is Hezekiah's acknowledging God in all situations.
He knew no one else could rewrite the stories but God. But there is one thing we must take into account and it's his relationship with God. As mentioned earlier you can't trust someone who often disappoint you. In the case of Hezekiah he trusted God so much.
That he did same thing on both occasions. The first time he went to the house of God. The second time because He was unwell he faced the wall and wept to God.
God is not inconsistent, He is not inconsiderate, He is not in support of injustice because He is God.
He will always come through for those who trust Him.
If He says He will do it, He will surely do it.
These situations that happened to Hezekiah happens to us all. It might be in different format but I tell you when challenges come at times, you feel deflated, you feel lost, you wonder why me. Haven't I served God enough, why is He putting me through this.
Some of us may even try looking at some things, have I offended someone, did o not give enough to God's work, do I need to intensify this or that. But God will be God, the Bible says He will have mercy on whom He will have mercy and have compassion on whom He will have compassion on. He is not a man that He should lie or son of man to repent He is God. He doesn't need the authorities of the land before He enters the land, He is above all authorities and opinions.
He doesn't need the expert review before He makes a decisions, He is Yahweh and He fulfills all promises. He is God.
I don't know how you feel as you read this, may be you feel deflated, like all hope is lost, like you have intensified all you can but change isn't happening do not give up. Keep laying it before Him in prayer, write them down and keep calling Him to put things on order, He will never fail.
I haven't seen Him fail yet and I do not thing that's gonna happen forever. Even when the outcome is not as you desire trust Him to perfect it still.
He carries us through thick and thing because He is the greatest deliverer who needs no deliverer or deliverance.
*It's time to pray✅🙏*
❇️Thank God for who He is to you
❇️Magnify Him for always seeing you through even when confusion looms ahead and it's humanly unbearable.
❇️Say father thank you for the privilege given to me to pray to you always, to tell you my heart and pour my all to you in prayer.
❇️Say father no matter what comes my way never let me give up on my prayer life.
❇️Say lord enable me to stand in prayer in times of adversities and challenges seen or unseen.
❇️Say lord over all petitions I have laid before you, as you came through for Hezekiah, come through for me and my family beyond our comprehension.
❇️Say father for all that I have prayed for over this nation, have mercy and arise to our aid in Jesus name.
❇️Say father extend my days, extend my time, break protocols for me as you did for Hezekiah in Jesus name.
❇️Say father that which stands as final verdict over my health, my career, my marriage, my business, my studies against your will as you changed and turned around situations for Hezekiah turn them around for me in Jesus name.
❇️Say father today let mercy prevail over any form of judgement or verdicts that jeopardize your purpose in my life in Jesus name.
❇️Say lord give me sense of direction, sense of discernment, so I will always come to you just as Hezekiah did and I will not run from pillar to post, especially to people who cannot save me in Jesus name.
❇️Now lift that request of yours before God and ask Him to have His way, tell Him to take control, that His will be done and not your will in Jesus name
Thank you for joining and remember Jesus loves you sooooooooooo muchhhhhhhh❤️
