What is expectation?

Sis Queeneth: Expectation is hope in action

Sis Leah: Expectation can be a prediction, a strong desire, a strong belief that something will happen, anticipation, assurance, confidence, trust.

Sis Leah: The Bible verse we are studying today is about expectation...
In the Amplified version it says...

Now to Him who is able to carry out His purpose and do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think ( infinitely beyond our greatest hopes or dreams ) according to His power that is at work within us...
So to receive this expectation we must possess that power within us...
The power here is the word of God, our active faith in God.
Let us quote an example. If as a student you want to write an exam before the exam what will you be waiting for?
Please let us respond
Before an exam as a student your expectations will be to have the questions you can answer correctly, even if the subject is the best subject you are good at, you wouldn't be expecting the questions you are unable to answer.

Sis Queeneth: Question paper and answer script.

No one will sit down and say yes I have written the exams but I do not want good grades that is an insane way of thinking.
The moment you get your result and pass that course as now become a victory result for you.

Sis Leah: But in the process of waiting a lot will come into your heart and mind about it.
To start with, if you didn't put any effort into the exams probably you didn't study, you didn't answer any question in the exam papers and you just submit

Sis Leah: If you expect a miracle you are probably waiting for magic to take place

Sis Queeneth: Absolutely

Sis Leah: So some expectations work with the power that God had already deposited in us.
I remember the Grenfell tower survivors, some of the students had to write their exams weeks after the fire had consumed their entire property killed many people and rendered the entire occupants homeless.
This students some came out with distinction in their exams.

Sis Ohla: Wow they had prepared to

Sis Queeneth: Right

Sis Leah: I believe that is not a miracle but the evidence of what they had inside of them already.
Had it been they failed to study before the fire, remember this people their laptops all their school study materials burnt down but thank God they came out with their lives and what they already had stored in their memory box plus the effort to go to the exam hall and efforts to write birth that result.
This just explains that we all carry something within us the ability to do more is already inside of us
Now let us talk about a waiting father or mother.
Every month when the blood flow of the lady comes she will feel down in fact devastated especially if the pressure to have children has being mounting up on her.

Sis Queeneth: Yes with high expectations

She will feel drained and when she goes into her house probably the next door neighbor’s kids are always jumping and screaming their lungs out and she could hear the mother next door saying
Josh stop hitting your brother.
Princess stop bullying queen. You children should stop the noise ok you go for time out
But this waiting mother’s house is dead silent.
This will remind her of her expectations from God.

Sis Oluchi: Yes

Sis Leah: If she got angry and said to the next door neighbor shut up are you the only mother in town abeg (please) let us hear word.
She will probably be labelled as a witch who doesn't like children.
Some will even say she probably killed all her children due to her witch craft.

Sis Ohla: Very well.

Sis Leah: Well this doesn't mean this person is not expecting children but some circumstances drive people to the edge of behaving negatively toward positive occurrence that is similar to their expectations.
Whereas such situation will make another woman cry endlessly while some will embrace those children.

Sis Ohla: True

Sis Leah: I am not here to judge anyone every individual handle their waiting period differently.
Some embrace people who have passed that stage while some just like to walk the journey alone.

Whatever the reason it is best known to each individual
But in every aspect of your expectations and mine, something is buried within us only if we can see and tap into it.
As the extraordinary ability to thrive and stay strong in faith even in the situation no matter how bad it may be.
I tell you no expectation is bigger than God.

Sis Oluchi: Yes ooh

Sis Leah: If you are homeless and expect God to give you a home you should know what you are expecting.
If you want to move to a 4 bedroom house you pray in your mouth for four bed but within you, you are busy saying God a room and sitting room studio flat is enough. What is within you is different from what you confess do not be surprised.

The power within you and I carry a big weight in every expectations we have from God.
Imagine when that waiting mother finally conceives or that scholarship letter finally drops in your post. The waiting mother’s thinking now changes from expecting another monthly blood flow to a bundle of joy. Her priority changes from buying sanitary towel to shopping for baby clothes because she now knows that something is inside her womb which she will meet in most likely 40weeks.

Sis Ohla: Yes, Everything will change.

Sis Leah: And that student with scholarship’s expectation and desires also changes from trying to pay for fees or go to school that is within their budget to packing up for a place where everything is already paid for as in you even get free meals. Your expectations will be to meet up annually the criteria of your scholarship either to keep good grades or whatever it may be.
What is the expectation within you?
The Message version of the scripture Ephesians 3:20 says God can do anything you know, far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dream! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us his spirit deeply and gently within us.

So the power is within you and the power which is through His spirit can only dwell in you richly and actively through The Word of God (Jesus).
So when Jesus is within you your type of expectation moves.
It moves from expecting lord please sha (just) do it mentality... to ‘God has done it for me’

Sis Leah: It changes to the mentality where what you see doesn't move what you expect.

Sis Leah: So that baby isn't moving and he or she is due then doctor is saying well we might have to terminate or you will have to deliver still birth.
Instead of that to shift your expectation to God’s spoken declaration and word in Isaiah 66:7-8 which says _Before she was in labor she gave birth before she was in pain she delivered a boy, who has heard of such as this? Who has seen such things? Can a country be born in a day or a nation delivered in an instant? Yet as soon as Zion was in labor she gave birth to her children…
Why not declare over that baby he or she is not moving but I am saying receive life...

Sis Queeneth: Glory

Sis Leah: I will not cast my young, I will not bring forth still birth.
This 9 months will not end with a mini coffin.
My labor will not be suddenly wiped

Sis Betty: My labor will not suddenly wiped in Jesus name.

Sis Ohla: Awesome God

Sis Leah: They say to you ahh that situation you are in takes long... And you say within yourself Proverbs 23;18 say For surely there is a future and my hope will not be cut off
It might take longer than whatever the policy says for others but in my case I serve the Lord who does exceedingly abundantly above all I can think, ask or ever imagine.
It may take long for others but mine is taking supernatural speed.

What is the expectation within you?

Are you being tossed and pushed about?

When you hear, you say ahh it has never happened that way or that is the way it happens. No, let the spirit within you go into action begin to decree, ‘Mine will take speed’.
The doctor told you it's a degenerative disease no way out, c'mon.

Sis Leah: What is your expectation? To perish in that degenerative disease or to come out restored?

Let me tell you something, when Job was restored the friends who told him to curse God and die had to come back to him for him to pray for them
People will say what they know to the limit of their knowledge
People will tell you when it is raining and it is sunny, the lion is giving birth
But as a child of God I will look at it and say this is the God I serve the one who can command four season to take place in one day at the same time without any disturbing the other
The God I serve does more than what I can imagine.

Dearly beloved what is your expectations?

The fact that the business, the church, that thing you have sown seed on is not growing shouldn't determine you shutting down on it.
God meets us at the point of our expectation.
You will not sow a seed in the soil today and kill the hope of it ever growing.
No you wait patiently for that growth to take place so you can eat the fruit.

Sis Leah: Some expectations may include a test of faith but that shouldn't make you throw in the towel or start saying where is this God.
His hands are not short
His ears are not heavy to hear. He is the greatest deliverer
Imagine this whole earth is His foot stool

Sis Ohla: Awesome God

Sis Leah: The landlord said you should leave where is your expectation? In man or the one who can make that current accommodation, a kitchen beside what He has planned for you. He will just drop a divine idea within you and when you follow suit, you see lines falling in pleasant places for you.

Sis Leah: They say when you get to 35years menopause start settling in, and you are worried.
Ahh, I don't have an admirer not to talk of fiancé. 35 has come 36 is near 34 has gone... Please don't kill yourself with unnecessary human calculation.
When He formed you in your mother's womb he didn't put a time bomb in your womb or destiny

Sis Leah: Ahhhh people that have this do not survive wait a minute if God can separate and make Naaman the leader of host of Syria, a leper, a leader, when humanly speaking he should be a cast away...
Exceedingly abundantly above all you think or ask for He has done yours no limitation.
Your restoration isn't limited in anyway just believe

Let us pray

Father we thank you for today. Lord thank you for your word that you sent to me. Lord thank you for renewing my understanding through your word.

Father forgive me in any way I have limited my expectations in you or in things I dream for in life.

Lord henceforth increase my faith to expect the great always and in all situations.

Lord almighty remove everything that keeps popping up to create doubt in me over all my expectations.

Lord concerning (mention) I decree speed and divine intervention in Jesus name.

I decree I will not be disadvantaged in Jesus name.

Thank you lord for answered prayers in Jesus mighty name!!!
