Topic: The Word Heals
Text: 2Kings 5:1,7-14
Now Naaman, commander of the army of the king of Aram (Syria), was considered a great man by his king, and was highly respected because through Naaman the Lord had given victory to Aram (Syria). He was also a man of courage, but he was a leper. When the king of Israel read the letter, he tore his clothes [in shock and outrage at the request] and said, “Am I God, to kill and to make alive, that this man sends to me [a request] to heal a man of his leprosy? Just consider [what he is asking] and see how he is seeking an opportunity [for a battle] with me.” Now when Elisha the man of God heard that the king of Israel had torn his clothes, he sent word to the king, asking, “Why have you torn your clothes? Just let Naaman come to me, and he shall know that there is a [true] prophet in Israel.” So Naaman came with his horses and chariots and stopped at the entrance of Elisha’s house. Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying, “Go and wash in the Jordan seven times, and your flesh will be restored to you and you will be clean.” But Naaman was furious and went away and said, “Indeed! I thought ‘He would at least come out to [see] me and stand and call on the name of the Lord his God, and wave his hand over the place [of leprosy] and heal the leper.’ Are not Abana and Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus [in Aram], better than all the waters of Israel? Could I not wash in them and be clean?” So he turned and went away in a rage. Then his servants approached and said to him, “My father, if the prophet had told you to do some great thing, would you not have done it? How much more then, when he has said to you, ‘Wash, and be clean?’” So he went down and plunged himself into the Jordan seven times, just as the man of God had said; and his flesh was restored like that of a little child and he was clean.

Praise be to the Most High who has counted us worthy to see another month in this year 2019. To Him be all the glory, honour and adoration. Lord we ask that you speak to us through your word today, let our minds be enlightened and brighten our path this day and let all glory be yours at the end of it all in Jesus name.

Today I want to talk about The word heals and the teaching is from 2kings 5. The story of Naaman the great warrior of Syria but he was a "leper". Remember in those days of the Bible lepers aren't allowed to mix with people cause of their condition. I think Naaman was only privileged because he was skilled in winning battles.

Let me digress a little people whom he went in battle against must have belittled him from his appearance due to his condition but at thesame time they must fear him because it didn't sound like he lost battles.

When Naaman cried to the king regarding his condition for healing the king made it clear that he couldn't do nothing but God can. Fortunately for Naaman his maid knew about Elisha and through her he got his healing but it wasn't that straightforward for Naaman because when Elisha told him to go and wash in Jordan 7times, the moment Elisha said the word the power for healing was released for Naaman's healing  but Naaman was expecting some preferential way to aid his healing. He delayed the healing the moment he hesitated on the type of river he needs to go and wash but once he went to the river "bam!" Healing took place.

Our healing comes as much as what we confess from that place of distress, while we expect  some supernatural extraordinary pilot and superhero to come in and just do some miracle what are we confessing, are you claiming healing while you function as one who is not ready to be healed. I know some sickness and disease can drain your strength but I tell you today God is your strength, even on that sick bed receive His strength now to replace all weaknesses in Jesus name

You might be baffled but I keep praying but the report hasn't changed do not stop praying do not stop declaring do not stop the devil is bent on showing you what has gone wrong than allow you to realise what is going right, what has gone right and how far God has brought you.

The woman with the issue of blood made up in her mind that if I can touch the helm  of His garment I will be whole, the positive desire, willingness and confession was already there and we all know when she eventually touched the garment as she had purposed in her being yes! the flow of blood stopped.

You might be saying what word should I be confessing, the word is your affirmative declaration of what God promised you through His word, your prayers and meditation. All these accumulate to what you possess within your body, soul and spirit either in your conscious or unconscious state.

You will not die unfulfilled, that sickness, you will see the end in Jesus name as you grow in faith and hope in God your testimony will manifest in Jesus name.

I read a testimony of a lady years ago who due to one accident or illness ended up in a wheelchair she was in her 20s she had her whole life ahead of her. She was depressed confined to one room because of her sickness she was tired. The life she had compared to what she was in then was two different lives. One day whilst staying in her room she turned on the radio, she has always had it on since she was confined to this room. As she browse through the radio channel she got stuck on a Christian radio broadcast where worship songs was on she wasn't a believer but I guess the lyrics of the song caught her attention. She made it a duty to keep listening daily, gradually depression left, the words she was hearing changed her mindset. Then one day she prayed and gave her life to Christ, she asked if God was there He should change her condition. Time went by, she had new perspective of life as a result of what she listens to in the Christian radio. Then one day something told her to stand up from the wheelchair, she was filled with mixed emotions but she tried she stood took few steps, from then one she began practising daily until she was out of that wheelchair permanently. She went on to gain her degree in her chosen field and became fired up for Jesus.

God is at work in you there is no doubt so don't stop believing.

Let us Pray

Lord thank you for the revelation power your word gives on daily basis  to me in Jesus name

Father take off me all fear that has beset me as a result of sickness, disease or diagnosis in Jesus name

I decree henceforth the strength of God replace every weaknesses in my body, soul and spirit in Jesus name

I decree the declaration and affirmation of my divine health henceforth are not empty words they are coming to manifestation in Jesus name
