*Topic:* Restoration

*Text:* 2 Kings 6:1-7

Now the sons of the prophets said to Elisha, “Look now, the place where we live near you is too small for us. Please let us go to the Jordan [River] and let each man take from there a beam [for the building]; and let us make a place there for ourselves where we may live.” And he answered, “Go.” Then one said, “Please be willing to go with your servants.” So he answered, “I shall go.” So he went with them; and when they came to the Jordan, they cut down [some of] the trees. But it happened that as one was cutting down a beam, the axe head fell into the water; and he cried out and said, “Oh no, my master! It was borrowed!” The man of God said, “Where did it fall?” When he showed him the place, Elisha cut off a stick and threw it in there, and made the iron [axe head] float. He said, “Pick it up for yourself.” So he reached out with his hand and took it.

This evening our exhortation will be taken from the passage above and it will be about *Restoration.*

Restoration is returning something back to the original state.
Everyone desires restoration after any kind of loss, no matter how minute the loss is except if it's the loss of something not tangible in our lives.

In the scripture above Elisha was with the sons of the prophets and they were by the Jordan River. Each was making a beam from the cut down trees and in the process, one lost the head of the axe. We all know when you lose the head of the axe the wooden handle is pretty much useless.
They called to Elisha for help because the axe was borrowed.
Imagine losing something you borrowed and have no replacement for it. You will try your best to get it back.
They showed Elisha where the head of the axe had dropped into and he cut off a stick and threw it in there and, alas! the head of the axe floated.
We all can imagine the weight of the head of an axe. It's metal and will be a bit heavy for it to cut trees and if that drops inside water it should sink,  but guess what? God made the impossible happen through an impossible means. A stick was thrown in the water and the axe head floated!
Sometimes we find ourselves in situations where the only restoration we need can only come in the form of a miracle or God using someone to facilitate the restoration.

Someone who has lost their job for months or years getting a letter to be restored back to work and be promoted is the hand of God.
Someone who is on death row being released and acquitted, that is God.
A marriage that is facing uphill and the two parties ready to stop it all down hill and go separate ways now having new wine and reuniting on agreement, that is God.
A womb that has been said not to be able to carry a child or someone who has always had ectopic pregnancies and now receiving divine healing, that is restoration.
When your house rent is not being paid and you have been served eviction notice but one way or the other you got the money paid, even unexpectedly, that is God working at the last minute.

God is always the Hero when it comes to restoration.

Imagine where you have constantly received a no. Then suddenly you got the long awaited yes, that is restoration by divine orchestration.

Restoration is something we all deserve, or someone we know here deserves and desires so much.
No matter how bad it looks when God steps in that restoration is possible.
It doesn't matter how long you have been in that situation.
It doesn't matter how much you have lost.
It doesn't matter how long that marriage has been facing that issue.
It doesn't matter what that immigration issue is.
When God steps into the case that needs restoration, things happen in a way that you have no choice but to believe that He is God.

A song's lyrics go thus:

For this God He is our God
Forever and ever
He will be our God
From now and even up to the end.

He is the God who changes things around.
If he can give a man born blind sight, that issue is not beyond His restoration power.
If He can restore a prostitute to be an evangelist, you are not "un-repairable" to God.
He is the one who makes the rejected stone to become a cornerstone.
He is always in the duty of making what has been seen as rubbish to become a rare gem because He has that power to restore and fine tune in His hands.

He is God.

So I want to reassure you.
*My case isn't beyond the restoration power of God* say that to yourself.
*My (mention) isn't beyond what God can fine-tune and make brand new.*
It doesn't matter what it looks like right now, you are getting that restoration where you need it.
So don't drop your faith, don't lose hope.
Don't downgrade yourself.
Don't gather a pity-party.
Go straight to the one who can restore it.
When that son of prophet lost the axehead he didn't start gathering a pity party. He knew the prophet of God was there and went straight to Elisha for solution.
Don't get weary of calling on God.
Don't get tired of allowing God to change that situation.
Trust Him all the way.

Let us pray.

Abba Father, thank you for your word which you sent to me this day in Jesus name. Lord forgive me in anyway I have gathered pity party instead of calling on you.
Lord in every aspect of my life that I have experienced loss and I need restoration, fix it now in Jesus name.
Lord over (mention) that has been said humanly that restoration is not possible, prove yourself mighty and give me testimonies in Jesus name.
Lord, I thank you for answered prayers in Jesus mighty name.

Hallelujah!🙏🙏 Congratulations! 🎉🎉🎉🎉

*_I am receiving my restorations henceforth in Jesus name._*
